About this item

  • Low Friction Operation
  • Self-Lubricating Compound
  • Superior protection against water and dirt ingress
  • Minimized wear and air suction
  • High resistance to UV light exposure

For a correct assembly of the Fork seal kit for mountain bike applications, SKF recommends: to clean and remove all lubricant residual from the seal seat prior to the assembly of the seal, not lube the external rubber press fit surface of the seal with oil, grease or other substances. In the realm of modern mountain biking, a component often overlooked yet critical is the humble fork wiper. Despite its small size, it plays a pivotal role in shaping your suspension experience and requires more frequent replacement than commonly realized. Riders often push their forks to the limit by neglecting wiper and lubricating bath oil changes, impacting both performance and longevity. While fork manufacturers have made strides in their seal systems, SKF introduces a range of aftermarket seals meticulously tuned to minimize friction, elevate suspension feel, and extend fork life. SKF seals excel in sealing out water and dirt, ensuring cleaner lubrication oil throughout the seal's lifespan.

My Pike fork is a non-boost 29er. The serial number behind the fork crown confirmed that my fork is a 2015. Why complaints about this seal set? Because it has an edge lip / flange and after 2015, the design change to a no-lip / flange design. In the picture' you can see the old (black) seal and new (green) seal with the flange/ lip. Again, the 2013-2015 forks need the lip/ flange and this worked for me.Also, using the foam inner bath soaked in oil and the SRAM butter grease does indeed make these glass smooth for travel. I used a PVC pipe to press them in.

I'm a moto and MTB guy and have used SKF seals on my dirt bikes for years. The material really does reduce stiction and is equal or better in durability versus other seals. I wouldn't have rebuilt my MTB without using SKF seals.

Tried them on a 2020 Lyrik, could not get them in for the life of me. Put in the original seals, and they went in no problem.

Seals came quickly and exactly as the picture showed.

Successful replacement of seals on base model 2012 Lyrik. In terms of crush washers... I could be dumb and/or wrong, but I didn't feel like anything that came in the box could be used as a crush washer for my specific fork, ended up using a different one.

Didn’t work on my 2016 pike as they didn’t seat far enough in the socket, popped out, had to send back

These are traditional seals with a top lip. Most, if not all, modern Rockshox now use seals without a lip. You can try to use these but they won't go in enough and may pop out during use. SKF makes great seals but these won't fit current forks.

Liking them more than the stock Rockshox seals so far...
