I have ordered these same folders 5 times and received them correctly. This last order I was shipped the wrong folders, returned them, ordered them again and only received 45 per box! We over paid by $57.12. This is a scam.

Pro: I needed these and just make sure you have the right stock number or you will be disappointed because these are the real deal! I can't recommend these enough if you need file folders that will stand up for years to come.Con: I wish they came in a smaller quantity, but that's just because I have no room to store them in my tiny senior apartment.

They are very close and I will keep them. Just disappointed. Also, they did not come in a "Smead" box, but rather loose in the shipping box.. Weird

The best I've found is the Smead 10434 14pt manila folder. This folder is built for medium to heavy usage, with a reinforced upper tab that resists bending and repeated handling.I was using 11pt folders for moderate usage (handling 2-6 times/yr) and longer term (10+ yrs) storage of documents. They would show some wear after a few years, but some have lasted 30+ years. When compared to those folders from the early 1990's, the newer 11pt folders are flimsy, where the tabs and corners would bend after only a few months. Trying to find a suitable replacement, I looked at numerous brands at the usual office supply stores, but all of the 11pt folders seem equally flimsy. I expanded my search to the next higher 14pt folder thickness, and found the Smead 10434.For comparison of the folders I've used by thickness and weight, using lbs/100 folders:1990's: Globe-Weis 11pt: 5.4 lbs2020's: Various brands 11pt: 4.6 lbs2022: Smead 10434 14pt: 9.0 lbsThe .8 lb difference seems to make the 11pt folders much less durable, where the corners and tabs bend at the slightest touch. The 14pt Smead folders are tanks in comparison, and as other reviewers have noted that they cost more because you are getting 2X the amount of paper.

The weight of these folders is great for the office. We have yearly files that we have to save for many years before they are discarded. We also have permanent files that are accessed over many years. These heavy weight file folders stand up for the long haul. The regular weight folders that we had years ago are a mess, with bent & crinkled tabs that will also fall apart and then the whole folder needs to be replaced, These heavyweight folders really last well.

Pros: thick proper manila folder with sturdy construction and reinforced tab. You want all this - the folders hold up for decades, the reinforced tabs are both functional in the drawer and do not cut your fingers. You can adjust width of folders.Cons: none, really. May have used other brands in professional life, but do not settle for flimsy sharp edged file folders. Would be happy to buy 100% recycled materials and I do not think these are that.

These Smead folders we find to be the best we have ever been able to find. Nice quality and coloring and the top labeling tab projects upward high enough that it is ABOVE and not hidden by what is stored in the folder. Priced right and you will really like them too.

About 15 years ago all file folders were this weight. Then I suppose in the interest of economy all of the folders being sold became the thin flimsy & not at all durable things available now. So worth it to pay more for these very sturdy files !

Bought this product and didn't realise that 1) it was the wrong type of file (my bad) but that 2) it would be coming from the USA. To return will cost me £97 for a £34 cost plus customs fee. Awful experience and lesson learnt buying from US based suppliers.
