I ordered these and they we’re delivered in 3 days. The snow socks look and feel high quality. I have not used them yet and will update when I do.

I have never installed tire chains or socks in my life, and this may be totally because of me, but I couldn't install them on my car after 2 attempts. In both times, as shown in the photos, the socks get stuck with one side stretched and the other side under the tire. As I have never tried with chains or other socks, I don't know this is easier or harder; I only know I couldn't install these. I haven't had a chance to use these and don't know the durability. However, our state has a law we have to carry chains/socks to go over the mountains, even though I have never needed them as I avoid driving the pass in the severe conditions. But in case I'm questioned by an officer, these are great to have in the car. Considerably cheaper than socks sold in a local tire shop, and if the main purpose is to "show", this is a good inexpensive option.

I ordered these as a precaution before a trip to the mountains in late December. I didn't get to use them as the weather was much warmer than usual, however it is a nice to have these in your trunk, specially when heading to the mountains, where the weather is very unpredictable. I did try them out as a practice prior to the trip and they are relatively easy to install for being it the first time, and are a much more practical option than snow chains.

Picked these up for my daughter to have on hand in the event of an emergency. I wanted lightweight and most importantly easy to install. I've used chains and these don't fit that bill. These "socks" definitely fit the bill. Amazingly simple to install and very easy for a novice to add some extra traction.Disclosure: I have not run these at length and only had a chance to test briefly in a light snow 4ish inches. Worked like a charm and I have high hopes in a worse situation these can only help and easy enough for anyone to install. Material quality is excellent. Definitely will hold up to snow covered roads. Any length on pavement I would have concerns but the beauty of these is they are super simple to put on and off so not worries taking off once you land on pavement...

I really love these snow socks for my tires, I have never used this sort of tire traction aid before, but they work really well for giving my vehicle the extra traction that it needs on bad roads. They are very durable and easy to install and they are a great value too!

These are very easy to install and are much more quiet in use compared to snow chains. Also the risk of damage to my car is far reduced compared to conventional snow chains. This way I am prepared and not concerned!

PROs- Very lightweight. (Great to carry in car, for "just in case" uses.)- Relatively easy to install on the tiresCONs- Likely not as durable, especially when the roadway is partly dry.- These may or may not qualify as valid "traction control devices" in the eyes of the law when "chain control" requirements are in effect and enforced by the highway patrol.- No certification markings (which could be required in the near future.)On the last point, I briefly researched it on the Internet, specifically for use in California. (California Vehicle Code (CVC) Section 605, etc.)And I got the impression - I am not a lawyer - that there are currently no specific rules that govern these newer "alternative traction control devices" / "a cloth-based tire traction control device" - yet. So these should be currently okay to use when "chain control" is being enforced by CHP / CalTrans on California highways.BUT - I also found out that CHP has already done some tests, and as a result recommended creation and adoption of performance standards and specifications. So at some point in the (near?) future, only "certified" products will likely be considered legal, as far as "chain control" rules are concerned. (Again, this is for California. Rules for other states likely vary.)I have no idea as to the timeline of the proposed new DMV provision. But it is something to keep in mind; you might want to research laws in your own state. For myself, I think I will use this product as a good "just in case" gear. When snow is reasonably anticipated, I plan on carrying the traditional snow chains as well. The product seems as described and looks all right. I am giving it a preliminary 4 stars for now, pending a chance to try it in snow, hopefully soon this winter.
