About this item

  • High-Quality Material: The deck post base is crafted from 2.1mm thick steel, ensuring durability and strength. It features a black baked enamel finish that effectively prevents rusting of the post anchor, providing a stable support for your base post.
  • Dimensions: The post base has an inner diameter of 5.6" x 5.6". This is perfectly compatible with 6" x 6" wooden posts, as the actual inner diameter of such posts is 5.6" x 5.6", and the base is designed to accommodate this size seamlessly.
  • Easy Installation: Each post base comes pre-drilled with holes and includes a set of installation instructions and hardware. This makes it a breeze to securely install the 4x4 post base into concrete, ensuring a hassle-free setup process.
  • Bottom Drainage Design: The base of the post is designed with drainage in mind. Rainwater will flow down the post and onto the ground, preventing water accumulation that could lead to damage of your wooden post.
  • Versatile Applications: 6x6 post bases are specially designed to support porches, pavilions, decks, mailboxes, fences and railings etc. They are the ideal choice for enhancing the stability and appearance of your outdoor projects.

I got these to support my mailbox that has been replaced. They come with all the screws and there are directions. They are well made metal frames and fit tightly around a wooden 4" post. I did have to shave a little off the bottom of the post to make it fit but they work out great. I am using them for the posts holding my mailbox.

I used two for some posts on my patio and they secured them very well. It was a tight squeeze on one of the 4x4s but the 4x4 was just a little off at the bottom and didn't slide on.

Plan your budget. The bracket is pretty good if you have support or in a corner. Its thinner metal but it holds ok if your not going to high or lots of weight forcing it back and forth. I used one piece at the end of the kennel free stanging against my stucco wall only holding the lach side and the weight of my dogs leaning on the gate bent the metal enough for the 4x4 to lean a little and render the latch unless. The hard ware sucks so dont wast your time with it cause it will cost you more time and headaches having to redrill, tap, and attempt to bolt down the bracket. The stupid bolt bend easily when hammering them down. And the housing is so thin that its hard for the bolt to lock in the hole. Just buy better anchor bolts.

One was warped and could not fit on s 4x4, I had to split it with an angle grinder and drill new holes to clamp it into place. I used mine to reinforce 4x4’s set into about 12” of concrete. My old posts had rotted and i could not dig them completely out. I back filed cement snd cut the bottoms out of these brackets so they would slide over the 4x4. I sds drilled 3/8” holes into the concrete and used some store bought anchors, these gold anchors look like they are made of cheap metal. My posts are solid now, this metal is pretty thick. Wish you could buy these in 4 packs.
