I was searching for a 3 pole switch and this popped up, dropped it in the cart and checked out. It ended up being a 2 pole switch when I opened the box and had I looked at the description I would seen it described that way. That's on Amazon I guess and myself. Ended up returning it. But it is well made and I would rather have the Square D then the Siemens brand I ended up with.

I generally prefer Square D products even though they cost a bit more. I have several electrician friends and their consensus is Square D is a cut above most others, and this has been my experience as well. I took off 1 star because some of the knockouts were unusually difficult to break out cleanly, but this could just be an anomaly. Otherwise, box was suitable and functions well.

based on where it is and what it will do, my wife and children should be able to transfer to the generator in the event of an electricity outage.

I needed a heavy duty switch for my single phase air compressor and this one works perfectly for the application. Simple, effective and inexpensive and being able to have additional fuse protection is a nice feature.

120/240VAC disconnect switch with knock out on the top and bottom and sides. After 50 years the old disconnect malfunctioned and I needed to replace it. I did not want to change the wiring to it. All the other disconnects I looked at had only bottom knock outs which would have required me to replace the wiring. It also has the common floating as well as the 2 hots. Same as the old switch.
