This bass is great! Build quality, sound and fit and finish for this price point is a great bargain. The single coil pickup sound is unique enough to warrant owning one, even if you have a P bass with a traditional split coil pickup.BUT the biggest caveat is the weigh of the bass which fluctuates wildly between examples. I bought one from Amazon and it was 12 lbs on my scale. On my back it felt like more! I returned it and they didn’t have another in Sunburst. Bummer. Fast forward to 2025 and I found one from another vendor that was around 9lbs. Bought it and love it including the weight. Cheers.

Squier is Fender’s less expensive brand, but you wouldn’t know it by the quality of this guitar. The Classic Vibe series is just as good, if not better than, some guitars and basses with the Fender logo on them.

Un livello di suono e qualità costruttiva che non corrispondono al prezzo contenuto dello strumento…. Meglio così per noi 😊

Excellent workmanship. Well executed replica pretty mush period correct. Near perfect set up out of the box. The Indonesian craftsmen nailed it! Does it replace my American made Fenders? No! Absolutely not! But it comes amazingly close for about a third the price! Perfect to leave out in the studio, keep at your friend’s house to entice her little kid to play, or take on those outdoor or rowdy gigs. Same for the 60s precision model. And I’ve owned or played originals of both. Not the same, for sure. Nothing is. But they will make you smile, for sure! 😜

Musical instruments like music are to individual taste, of course, but my goodness! Outstanding instrument! I'll sum it up this way: both my guitarist and drummer we're impressed enough to tell me how good it sounded at my 1st gig with it. High praise!Fit and finish are excellent. Couple minor unnoticeable (to public) blemishes but otherwise beautiful instrument. It's a heavy bass though, about 9-10lbs but well balanced with no neck dive. White blond and maple fretboard are simply gorgeous together, makes a statement for sure. And I'm personally partial to '50s P-Bass look with Telecaster head. But you can't play color or looks, so how's it sound? Best I've heard...ever. I play through a combo preamp foot pedal to Hartke amp and 210 cab to front of house PA. A touch of compression, everything else neutral on amp. Preamp bass at 1 o'clock, mid and treb at 11. Bass pot 90% rolled off treb. My goodness, the bottom end is impressive! Full, rich, and booming. Been playing a Sterling Stingray through same rig and could never come close to this Squier's bottom end. Same with my other Squier P-Bass. The single Alnico single coil pickup is key. Placed slightly off center closer to the neck together with me playing between it and the neck. Plus I put older flats on it, the only setup I did on it out of the box. And that full, rich sound carries up the scale to all strings. If you're looking for a classy instrument with full, rich bottom end to cut through the mix that's a joy to play, give this one a look. Well worth the $450 my family paid for my 65 birthday present (old rockers don't die, we just play off into the sunset). Highly recommend.

Thought I would have to replace pickup before bass arrived, however not going to bother. Sounds great the way it is. Aligned strings a bit better and tightened the truss rod a tweak and intonation. Spot on!Much better than the Mexican ones for sure and can not beat the price. Keep pickin, Guitarmon.

Most versatile single pickup bass I've played in years. Well built and great tone. Purchased in Warehouse Deals. Only damage not disclosed was a broken, and missing pickup mounting screw. But that was quickly repaired. The setup was more than adequate and no issues with the neck. Great buy if you can find one.

I'm a bassist with over 30 years of touring and recording experience with Grammy winning reggae, hip hop and soul artists. I'm knee deep in the NYC recording and local gig scene during Covid.Firstly, the Squire Classic Vibe basses are worth every penny and then some. I own the 60's P Bass and the 60's Mustang Bass. Swapped out the pick up on the P, and flats on the lot of them. Perfect for that phat tone everyone wants and needs in Brooklyn. Run it through a decent amp, and be mindful, your sound is all in the fingers and your confidence in them and you're good brotha and sista's..This one, has the aesthetics I dig. What can I say, its pretty. I took out the pick guard to reveal the lovely wood grain. No need to scratch it up and "relic" it. Thats goofy to me. Live life, and it will do it naturally. But I digress. So yeah, its pretty. Next up, its well built. The weight feels good. The nobs turn and around all unbalanced... You plug it in and can dial up a nice single coil phat tone... you can roll out the high's and go even heavier. Its feeling like a woman with a big bottom, which is how we like the bass to feel in Brooklyn. It gets attention. And its right in the pocket. The neck is easy on the hands, in that its not like holding a baseball bat... its designed for playability, so you're not getting an actual 51' P bass.. but a funky fascimile that you can work a two or three set gig without your hands going into carpal tunnel.. nice for beginners...and pro's I'd say.Single coil means you'll have a hum... its not a humbucker... but with your hand on the instrument, it grounds it out.. I don't mind the hum anyway... it reminds me that the thing is doing what single coils do...so get over it whiners..As you read in many of these reviews.. and I'm sure you've seen on youtube vids... you can rock this baby for all styles.. I won't go into it.. but with that Fender sound.. you can dial into all genre's. with a pick.. or your fingers.. or thumb.. played by the bridge.. or close to the neck.Intonation was fine.. the nut up top.. no problem. Like I said.. straight out the box I had what I needed, minus the pick guard.. trash can... and with the flats I swap out on all my basses.. I want these flats to get old and dead as a doornail. a natural mute....but hey that's me.So I'll end this review by saying.. get this bass, if you're thinking budget and phatness. And enjoy the beauty of the simplicity of it all. Imagine that....
