Both front and rear cables were a few inches too short for my application (Trek Navigator 300 size 18.5). They measures 54 (front) and 73 (rear) inches. Was able to pop the assemblies apart and reuse old cables, but it’s a bit of a pain. These are a big improvement over the other SRAM 1:1 ratio grip shifters that came on the bike. I was having unintentional shifts with my originals due to the longer shift body and weak shift detent pawl tension. These shifters are shorter, and the stationary hand grip area is longer. This gives your hand more grip to hold on to, and less shifter in your palm. Indexing is perfect, and clicks between gears are crisp and have good tension. Would have been 5 stars if cables were a few inches longer.

Da kommt Shimano nicht mit. Viel übersichtlicher, viel schneller schaltbar.

It was easy to install because the wire goes through it. It's held up maybe 50 miles so far since I installed it. On any of these installs, it takes a bit of effort to get any grip on any handlebar.

The old rubber grip shifters on my Rans Rocket recumbent had turned almost to liquid. They were awful! This pair of shifters replaced them perfectly. Installation took only an hour or so. I was a bit concerned that the rear shifter might not have enough cable. It turned out to have about 8 or 10 inches more than was needed for this short wheel base recumbent.

Great!! I am not a fan of the thumb shift gear selectors that come with my bike. The are of high quality, just did not feel good to me. I ordered the SRAM twist shifters, installed them and they work great. I could not get the numbers on the shifters to match my gears, yet I can tell by the resistance and it makes the bike more user friendly when I am out riding.

I like grip shifters. I don't maintain my bikes very well, so this allows me to have a little better control over shifting than index shifters. Using the micro-shifting on the front, I am able to better control the shifting. The particular grip shifters are fine. They have loosened up over time, but they are cheap enough to replace.

these work second best being they quit making the sram 5.0 version of these that i would have preffered to replace mine with.you do need to watch the ratio for the front shifter. i did call sram about it to get the right info and these do match the sram 5.0 ratio for those looking for a replacement.

For standard shifting make sure you get the MRX for the rear cluster/cassette. The 3.0 is for microshift or something that isnon-standard. You can use the MRX for the front (crankset) gearing but you would need the MRX for the rear. These are great and will continue to function long after the rubber starts to wear off the twist/grip shifter. They are somewhat loud when they shift , popping down to the next gear, but again they work very well, (mrx rear, mrx or 3.0 front for standard cassette)One complaint is that is is a pain to change the cable. It almost seem that they say, if you have to change the cable, you have to replace the shifter. It is not impossible but it is somewhat difficult to change.. I had to cut some of the rubber away to accomplish this task. They would get a 5 star except for this.
