Bought as a replacement for my Sram Red cassette to use on indoor trainer. As I know Sram's quality I put 5 stars immediately before installing and using it yet :)

I gave up my 11-23 cassette as I needed a bigger gear for the hills and rarely used the 11-speed cog (11th cog was used only for a few seconds on downhills). And I wanted to stay with a 10 gear cassette to avoid paying $250-$300 to upgrade to 11 gears. I have a Shimano short derailleur but went with the 12-28 SRAM cassette as it has the 16th cog (the one I use most). Shimano states that a 27 cog is the largest gear that can be handled by a short derailleur. I've also read that Shimano is conservative in their calculations. I installed the 12-28 cassette and it works perfectly with my short derailleur. (I wouldn't go above a 28 cog - if you're considering it.) The SRAM cassette slid onto to the hub easily and tightened with only finger pressure - no tools needed. EASY!

Personalmente mi sono trovato bene ,in salita col 28, su salite impegnative ,si fatica un po' meno e anche senza l'11 si fanno discese oltre i 60 …. ho cambiato anche la catena pacchetto completo .

I purchased the Sram pg1070 cassette to replace a stock Shimano Tiagra cassette on my new bike. I choose Sram because I had read reviews about its smooth shifting and it is the force model that goes along with Shimano Ultegra.I also purchased the matching chain and I must say that this combination is as smooth as silk compared to any other combination that I have used. Shifts are very quick and clean even with the 105 rear derailuer. The one and only issue I have is the weight. It seemed to be heavier than my 12-30 Ultegra cassette (about the same as my old 105 12-28 cassette). I didn't weigh them, but I was expecting it to feel lighter.I would recommend this cassette along with the matching Sram chain.

I own about 10 different SRAM and Shimano cassettes and love the 1070 series. They are reliable and lighter weight than the Shimano cassettes in the same price range. THey are comparable to the Shimano Ultegra and the gearing options in the SRAM cassettes are better (you have a LOT more options). I also like that I can break them down and swap cogs between cassettes to build my own gear ratios after I have enough of them. They are great and I would recommend them to anyone who is competitive on a budget. If you can afford to, the SRAM Red is lighter, but same performance.

I use and own the Sram 1070 cassette in 11-28 and 11-32 and both have worked like a charm on Ultegra, 105, Rival, and Force drive trains. I've used the Sram 1050 and 1091R chains with 1070 cassettes and a couple Shimano and KMC chains and everything worked fine from that perspective too.The 1070 cassette (as well as the slightly heavier 1050 cassette) is great because it combines a modest cost with great durability and sprocket-tooth options. Most of the time I ride using a 11-26 or 11-28 cassette, but when heading for a ride with tough hills (e.g., 15%-20% grades in the California mountains and hills), I'll switch to a 11-32 cassette. (My girlfriend, in fact, rides using a 11-32 Sram 1070 almost always and loves the wide gearing it his gives her with a compact 50/34 crankset.) I have several thousand miles on the 1070 cassettes I own and they still look great and shift like new. The semi-sprocket carrier design is also a lot easier to clean than my Sram 1090 cassettes (which are basically a three-piece design)--this is a nice bonus because a cleaner drive system generally lasts longer, shifts better, and is easier to pedal. :-)Although it is not an ultra-light design--like Sram Red, Shimano Dura Ace, or Campy Super Record--the 1070 is tough-as-nails and about 1/4 to 1/3 the price as its costly counterparts, which is definitely a factor if you don't have sponsor for your riding habit! (I know I don't...) :-) I would recommend the 1070 (as well as the 1050) cassette to anyone who is looking for a reliable, cost-effective cassette that still offers great performance. Thanks!

I had to choose between this and the Red rear cassette. After doing my research I was still torn. This is a component where there is a real weight differential between the two lines ( Red and Force), and also a severe cost differential. I wound up putting this cassette on my new build and decided if I really wanted to drop some more weight later , I would buy the Red rear cassette and new race wheels. The Red cassette is beautiful, but for bang for your buck, save the extra $150.00 and get this cassette. You won't be sorry. It shifts just as smooth and I've had not one problem from the start with it. Shifts are clean, smooth and quiet. Great cassette.

The 12-25 SRAM PG1070 cassette is the best value for your SRAM road groupset - Rival, Force, or Red. Yes, there are cheaper. Yes, there are lighter. This one is the best use of your money if you want a very good cassette for a reasonable price. Shifting is smooth and consistent. I got about 8,500 miles out of my last one.The 12-25 gearing will give you good enough gearing for rolling hills and decent top speed for the flats but not the best for either. It's right in the middle of those ranges, so an 11-28 would be better for big mountains and 11-23 for fast flats with little climbing.
