I used this to make some gaskets and it worked great, just as good as the usual Permatex I normally use. No leaks!

I used this to seal up the valve covers on my v twin Briggs this spring. No gaskets, just a thin layer of this RTV. The valve covers are still leak free after weekly use of the motor. Cost is on par to similar quality sealants.Appears to be a good choice for RTV, I suggest purchasing some.

Just because it has the name, Stanley, donโ€™t let that fool you although thatโ€™s often a good sign that you will have a warranty behind the product. I cannot attest that this is the big Stanley corporation, but the appearance seems to be so far.I have a Lexus GX 460 that I will probably take the intake manifold off to fix the common Toyota V8 intake to valley oil leak.I grew up old school, where every part of metal that made it in a motor had a gasket, but in this particular case the Toyota motor division realize he did not have parts that would be able to be torque down to create this type of seal with pressure so they decided to use a RTV type of sealant Probably 99% of the time has been very successful and had no repairs needed. In the case of the vehicle, I will work on, the option was take the top part of the motor apart and reseal it or from the opinion of the shop, just replaced the motor because one leak is only a start of another.I choose to fix it. I donโ€™t have $10,000 for a motor installed. Anyways, back to the ceiling. This is a high temperature RTV silicon sealant that is only as good as the person applying it. So many people blame everything on the sealant when they either put too much, not enough or did not clean the areas sufficiently. One of the biggest things you can do is a proper scrape down your mating surfaces, and in the case of most of the days vehicles, they have aluminum parts so you need to be extra careful, especially if using a carbide scraper. They also make plastic disposable razor blades that can fit scrapers as well with less damage but if youโ€™re good with your scraper, you know what youโ€™re doing you will not create more problems and you had beforeIf youโ€™re reading this, you probably are already aware of this so speaking to the chorus.I have zero doubts of the quality and longevity of this products lasting as I have never had an RTV sealant fail me.The biggest reason why I bought this was because I wanted the application to be done by a court gun so that I could run simple even beads and cut a very small hole but squeeze higher pressure from the back. Just make sure that you can quick release your handle of the gun to take the pressure off so that you donโ€™t pee out all your RTV when you set the caulking gun down.Always remember to check the flatness of the metal youโ€™re going to work on with some type of precision, flat bar, always check for any part that could be sticking up to cause of bump. Once you start to put this stuff down that may interfere with the ceiling of the part that will make with it, always wipe up your solvent, they are supposed to be the ones doing the cleaning. They can often leave some type of residue that will not appreciate. And I hope overall this helps you and Iโ€™m sorry Iโ€™m not in the middle of this repair right now which personally I am not sorry because I donโ€™t wanna do it , itโ€™s not Like the old days. Good luck and have a clean workspace.! When possible take a kid with you and teach him how to take things apart and put them back together properly. Itโ€™s a lost art.

Works great to seal intakes, valve covers, oil pans, water pumps, and who knows. Thatโ€™s all Iโ€™ve used it for so far but itโ€™s great. Iโ€™ll buy it again.

This RTV silicone gasket maker works great. Have used the other brand in a small tube for decades. This Stanley version works better. The tube screw on cap actually seals and the sealant inside will not harden and become useless over time.I completely cracked off a thin plastic fuel line from a plastic portable gas tank, used for an electric gas pump. Even with some gas and fumes present, was able to quickly loop a ring of sealant around the busted line and connect the two line parts back together. Couple hours later, added another bead of silicone, and it was then better than new. This stuff saved the day for me as we were in the middle of hurricane power outages.

We have a fireplace with a chimney that goes from the living room up to the roof. In the attic, there were some large air gaps. We wrap the gap with sheet metal and then use this high temperature sealant to seal in the openings between the sheet metal and the rough texture of the stone chimney. It all went fine and given how this silicone material is meant to withstand the heat of a car engine, we feel comfortable in having it against the stonework of the fireplace.Overall, a good heat resistance product that is easy to dispense and laid down well.
