I have a KT745 kohler (2018) and wasnt sure if it would fit or not, it has been working for the last few weeks, oem lasted 6 yearsUpdated, dropped a star because the shaft bent last week and have been unable to use the mower, however the seller is sending a replacement after I submitted photos of the issue.A few months of use isn't great but it'll get you out of a bind.

Easy to install. Two bolts and the battery cable and you're done. Works great!

Started lawnmower twice then just made spinning noise with no contact. Removed and this one provided to me, luckily has a black protector preventing loss of parts. Washer doors not come tightened to specification nor has a fastener. Old starter has a locking clip, no nut. These have nuts and spin off. Bad cheap product. Will never buy again. Make sure it's like the one you had/have. They were designed the old way for a reason.

This is the second replacement I have bought for my Craftsman Zero Turn. This one lasted a little longer than the last one I bought but still not acceptable. My mower has 130 hrs on it and I am now looking to purchase a 4th starter. If you are looking to replace yours for the first time I would spend the money and get an OEM one with a good warranty. They are only around $60 and now I just expect to replace them around every year and a half. I will try a different brand this time but I assume the results will be the same. Frustrating.

Almost passed this up. Same starter as the one I replaced but had an extra tooth in the gear. Thought that would make it incompatible but after a little research the motor used on my tractor could use either unit. Just happened to buy the tractor when they were using the new motor but old components to clear out their backstock.Wirk in automotive field so that isnt uncommon. But they make it sound like you can’t swap one for the other unless you research. The extra tooth in the gear increases the speed, which translates to quicker and easier starts. First time I started it I was expecting the slow chug as always, but sounded more like a jet spooling up. Even made it unnecessary to use the choke feature unless it was actually cold outside. Before it turned so slow due to the teeth not fully aligning up that it could be 80 degrees outside and still have to choke it to start.Excellent replacement or even upgrade if your starter still works.

Was a little concerned that the starter isn't listed by seller as a replacement. Thank you to the 2 reviewers who said it was. So far working great. Note in pic it is about a half inch longer. The stock starter only lasted 91 hours of use. I typically run my mower an hour or more at a time so I can speak to the longevity of my stock starter... not good. The stock starter seemed to have a bent shaft as the gear jammed so hard against flywheel (jammed starter gear is second pic) that only way to free was to loosen starter mount bolts. Don't know how that would occur. If anyone knows why and how this could occur, please tell. It did not encounter calamity. Was working fine, then went to start and just got a click like no solenoid or dead battery. Then found starter gear jammed on flywheel. This is a super easy part to replace with obvious bolts to remove.

My starter on my 50” cut Cub Cadet went bad so I called the dealer. WOW, they wanted $180.00 so I started looking and found some on Amazon, I liked the reviews and the price of this one so I ordered it. It’s very easy to remove the old and reinstall the new one, just two bolts and a nut for the wires. I’ve only used a few times since installed but it works just like the mower was new maybe even better. I can’t say how long it will last but I can replace it for the saving cost and still be happy.
