The rear supports started peeling and flaking in less than a month. The enamel came off and now there is shiny metal showing on both supports. This was not abused in any way, it was barely even used. The item functions as designed but it's useless if it's going to rust even with extremely careful use!!I do NOT recommend this item. Spend more and get Le Creuset so it doesn't fall apart just sitting on the stove barely being used!!!!

I LOVE this lid holder! I have Staub dutch ovens and a few pans and was always trying to find a place to put a lid when cooking and adding ingredients or checking on my food. It would end up dripping water either on my stove top or counters, which drives me nuts. This stopped that and keeps the lid out of the way without taking up too much counter space. The moisture collects in a removable silicone tray at the base which you can take out and clean when you are done cooking. I was able to get this one sale for a good price and it arrived the next day. Highly recommend if you do a lot of cooking with pots with lids.

This thing is a serious beast by way of weight and sturdiness. I have this next to the OXO lid holder and it’s a night and day difference. You should credit the OXO for how light it is yet it will hold a heavy cast iron Staub lid, with a spoon rest to boot! This Staub lid holder trumps the OXO for the qualities mentioned above. This also has one and only one function - hold a heavy lid. It will look the part in a well organized home kitchen where you want statement pieces which is what Staub and LC is about.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do i.e. holds the lids of cast iron casseroles whilst, stirring or adding ingredients to the pan.I thought it might be heavier because Staub lids can be weighty, however it is well balanced and therefore doesn't need to be that heavy. The silicone tray insert keeps the worktop clean and dry and lifts easily for washing.

Husband surprised me with this, it makes cooking with lids so much easier! The little trough catches all the moisture from the lid, it's extremely sturdy, hold all size lids, cleans easily, goes well with our kitchen decor, it's a little pricey but so worth it.

Material is cast iron so it’s stable and withstands those weighty Dutch oven slash cast iron lids, large and small, without falling over. My photo is showing a light but large glass lid made by Staub’s competitor lol.The slot where the lid sits on has a removable material (silicone I think) and the stand has a silicone cap. Both these materials soften the impact of putting something heavy so there’s no metal clanging. The condensation on the lids will drop on the slot so it’s fantastic and convenient that this part is removable and cleanable.Wish it could take multiple covers at the same time when I’m cooking up a storm…but the lid handles will take room too so if the manufacturers built a bigger product, this would be larger and heavier and I may not have the room for that.I don’t think it’s a kitchen basic however I truly appreciate it and makes my life easier - love having somewhere to put the hot lid on when I don’t have a lot of counter space, instead of on the stovetop grill, the granite countertop or the sink. Keeps it neat and convenient for those heavy @$& lids. Was the pricey $50 worth it? I think so. If you spent money for those Dutch ovens, I say ‘In for a penny, in for a pound.”

This is a heavy piece of kitchen kit. It's one of those uni-taskers that some chefs don't like as much, but I started to get very interested in it as a means to keep excessive water off a marble counter top (marble is very porous, and though it doesn't look it, water can damage marble). Turns out it also helps to juggle lids when cooking a big meal for family. Sit this on the counter near the store while cooking, and it'll be that third hand you wish you had while getting everything ready. It's sturdy enough that it'll hold up any lid I have - from stainless to iron. It's small enough that it'll tuck away between pots when not in use.

I am new to the Dutch oven craze. I love my new pots but had trouble with what to do with my lids, while cooking. They are large, heavy and have a lots of condensation from the cooking. This lid holder is very sturdy. It has weight to it. It also has silicone where it touches the lid and a reservoir for the condensation. It looks so nice on my counter and great for holding a cookbook or iPad (with recipes), when not holding a lid. I lightly recommend it.

Best lid holder there is for cast iron. Wish I had bought it sooner! No more watery mess to wipe up and the lid holder uses much less space. The silicone pieces protect the enamel finish quite well. The small reservoir is deep enough to catch lid condensation. It very sturdy for holding big heavy and small cast iron lids without scratching their finish. I was hesitant at first based on its price but after using this it is so worth it.

Item arrived in my regional Australian town 8 days from the date of order being placed, which is pretty good considering it was sent from the United States. Very reasonable price and free international shipping. What's not to like ?
