I had been wanting a kitchen utensil like this for a long time, but I found that most strainers were generally too big, too deep or too small. This strainer/skimmer is just right in terms of size and depth. I like that it is made from durable stainless steel rather than plastic. With a scoop that is slightly less than 5 inches in diameter and fairly flat, it is the perfect size when making soups in the crockpot or pressure cooker. Overall quality is very good, but not perfect. There are some rough edges and slight cosmetic blemishes. If I could rate it on a fractional scale, I would give it a 4.8. These minor issues would not have dissuaded me from buying it if I saw it in a store. I really like this strainer/skimmer.

This skimmer/strainer is absolutely perfect. It is nice heavy metal, not thin cheap sheet metal. It has good holes drilled in it, and a welded, hollow, handle. This is a serious skimmer and will be used for everything from deep frying, to de-frothing jams and jellies, and even for some soap making. This is exactly what I have been looking for.The main thing I want to stress is that this has no plastic or wood or any other material. It is 100% stainless and will last forever if you take care of it.

I didn’t really think this was an item I had needed, but it is! I have now used it several times while making soup and for crockpot cooking and it made separating small but so much easier! Specifically, when making chicken soup from scratch, I was able to just lift out small bones and herbs at the end in no time. Broad, flat, and perforated, it’s great!

This is a well-made stainless steel strainer, and it just feels nice in the hand. I've used it with our deep fryer to remove contents as needed and also to tap the fryer basket to remove some of the stuck-on batter (above the sink, lol). I like that it includes a handy storage bag, which we use to hang it on the hook next to our wok (and it keeps it clean). It's a great value for the price and I wish all of my utensils were made as well as this kitchen tool.

Needed a better way to skim the fats from my broth, and this skimmer does it easily. I like the heavier weight and the larger handle makes it easier to hold for someone with arthritis, or reduced sensations. It also works well for when you want moreover the stew and less of the broth.

There were three slotted spoon holes that weren't punctured completely, which resulted in the spoon having tiny, sharp edges around those holes that pose potential safety risks when using it. I tried removing the sharp edges from the spoon, but it was nearly impossible without proper tools due to its stainless steel material. I ended up trashing the spoon since it wasn't safe to use.

I was very surprised to see this came with a protection bag and a hanging hook. The skimmer itself is very heavy duty with nice lines and the handle holds well in your hand. I used this last night to pull soft pretzels from boiling water and it worked just perfect. Was a great size and the water easily flowed out of the holes so my pretzels were not soggy when cooked. This is a great skimmer. I highly recommend.

Much better than most strainers that usually have holes that are too big.
