Overall, the product is made pretty smart for cost/functionality. One problem, the ends aren't really on. The light bulb has pins at each end, so the black caps have to be the perfect distance to seat the bulb. Mine is kind of coming out of the extruded aluminum on both sides. I have to push the sides together for the bulb to work. I would suggest double checking assembly if this is your construction method; then it would be totally fine.I can't return it because I'm house bound so I guess Ill jerryrig some way to hold the ends in place.I couldn't fix it, it's just a terrible light.

While this doesn't come with a reflector, this 2' size is a great light to have as it: 1) fits a typical small indoor greenhouse, 2) shines light beside itself so that plants growing taller than 'one greenhouse level' will still get light, & 3) can be hung vertically or horizontally.Includes two different sets of clips for choosing to hang either with screws or strings.Works wonderfully for seedlings and plants.

$50 for a 25watt t5 florescent? This is some really old lighting technology and very low wattage, probably costs nothing to make, i don't understand why this costed so much.It works ok for clones but you're better off getting a clamp lamp and CFL bulb. Works just as well IMO.

I'm using my Sunblaster T5 Ho for my Reptile bearded dragon to be exact. My Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 Uvb T5 Ho Fluorescent lamp works perfectly in this fixture and is considerably cheaper than the other Reptile recommended fixtures. When your ordering the bulb make sure it's 2" smaller than the fixture itself if you order exact size it will be to big !

I replaced the bulb and used a UVB bulb instead for my chameleon. It works great except it doesn’t have a reflector so the light is less concentrated. (I had to make my own with tin foil).

I've tried several different kinds of grow lights- individual bulbs in hoods, led strips, and these. I tried my first sunblaster light strip 3 years ago and it has been my favorite light ever since. Since then, I've tried several different led strip lights that have worked fine and are alright, but not as bright and good for my plants as these. I've also tried different t5 strip lights from other companies (because they were cheaper) and have had horrible results- I've since returned those and bought these again. These arrived yesterday in the mail and worked instantly, were easy to set up, and have great lighting. I love these lights and honestly probably won't bother with another kind again

The first light I received barely works. The bulb constantly slips out of the connection and shuts off. I have tried but was unable to fix the issue. I sent an email to the seller about the issue and they sent a replacement with no issues. The 2nd light works wonderfully. My plants are loving the light and doing better now that I have a fixture that actually stays on.

I have this running 12-14 hours a day, providing the bulk of light needs for my plant collection, which includes an Old Man Cactus (mammalaria) and some highland nepenthes, both of which are lumens-hogs and will simply not look like what they are--lots of white "fur" on the Old Man and pitchers on the nepenthes--without adequate light. My plants look great with this bulb AND the white light looks nice in my space and also is conducive to viewing the plants. For me, personally, I don't really see the point in growing a houseplant that I can't have in the same space with me, in a way that I can appreciate it's beauty--or tell how it's doing by a casual glance. I think this T5 bulb is preferable to a red or blue LED.

This is a really nice high-quality T5 HO ballast. I'm using this in a reptile enclosure and it's one of the better ones I've found. Pairing with a ReptiSun 10.0 T5 HO you're hard-pressed to find anything that comes close to the output and usefulness (perhaps with the exception of the more expensive and harder-to-source Arcadia 12% bulbs). Right now I'm using it sans-reflector in a 20L enclosure for a juvenile bearded dragon and I'm hitting optimum numbers with the bulb mounted at the very top of the inside edge. When I size up to a 40g breeder tank this can go right in and continue to provide essential UVB exposure to my beloved pet. I didn't purchase it for its ganging ability but that flexibility is pretty amazing and does not go unnoticed. Spend a few more bucks and get one of these. You won't regret it.

I was looking for a way to supplement winter sunlight for a plant stand by a window and this little light is perfect. It lights up the whole shelf nicely. I didn't use the screws to attach the light (it would be perfect under a cabinet), but the clips worked great to hang the light from the stand brackets. It's versatile and practical; the T5 lights are worth paying extra over T8 or T12. Recommended! As a follow up after using this product for awhile, I was disappointed that the fluorescent bulbs don't last long. As soon as the tubes darken at the ends, they quit. T-12 bulbs and the T-5 Sunblaze product are much more long-lasting.
