At first, I was a little put off but the fact the brackets are made from a polymer material. But I thought about it somemore and many things are these days and its proven to be a reliable material. They are beefy nevertheless and so happy I got the spring kit too. It really makes the swing I used them on so much nicer. No squeaking or creaking noises when in use. Love this product so far. Brackets can be directly attached with hardware that comes with it but because of my application, I made up some steel plates with drilled holes for mounting it to the frame work and then welded 2 bolts to each to attach my brackets. Please keep in mind you don't necessarily have to do it this way they are made qnd shipped with all the hardware most people will need.

This is the second set I ordered because I purchased one for my son and daughter-in-law and liked theirs so much, I purcahse one for my husband and myself. I like the way it makes the swing bounce a little, as well as swing back and forth. It seems very sturdy, durable, and it adds something to the swinging experience. I grew up with regular porch swings that didn't have this type of hardware, and I am glad I was able to get this type.

Some people didn't like the hangers but they are a strong and won't rust. You need to buy some 3" long 1/2" lag bolts and washers you will need 4 sets of these. Then springs are heavy duty and with 400 lbs. on the swing don't sag and have plenty of bounce. This makes setting and swinging comfortable. I would buy them again if I were putting up another swing!

I used these to hang a 60" porch swing for my wife.. They are a bit pricey, but the quality and especially the security is worth the price in my opinion. The springs really do a great job of cushioning the swing. A rather large friend and myself sat on the bench together (over 400 pounds collectively) with no issues. Attaches securely and fairly easily as long as you predrill into the frame. I purchased 4.5" long 1/2" diameter lag screws which worked just fine with a bit of elbow grease needed on the last two or three turns.Note some of the negative reviews aren't taking into account a few things. None of the competing kits come with screws, so to knock this particular unit for their absence doesn't really seem fair. Also, the manufacturer states the unit that you attached to the frame is metal coated with plastic. Quite a few reviews are claiming the unit is completely plastic. This does not appear to be the case, but I am not willing to saw through the plastic covering to fully test the manufacturer's claims!Overall I would purchase this again, no question.

"So far..." this set of swing hangers has been excellent. I say so far because I have only had them for about six months and about five of those months it has been too cold to sit outside on the front porch swing. We have had a porch swing since we moved into our house some 35+ years ago. Unfortunately, three different times the traditional eye screws have snapped off leaving me with a short yet quick plunge to the floor below. No injuries but the last time, the swing was broken so I decided it was time to come up with a new plan. I had been told about this type of swing hanger but have never really seen one nor spoken to anyone who has used them. It was a bit of a leap of faith when I bought & installed them to hang my new porch swing last fall.I'm a bit disappointed in that the packaging doesn't carry any weight limits. The springs themselves are rated at "600 lbs," but is that each or for the pair? The package didn't say. Nor does the package list any kind of weight limit for the hangers themselves. This was also a concern since they are made of plastic. Not your ordinary every day run of the mill plastic but a plastic resin nonetheless. So I called the manufacturer and spoke with a company rep. Perhaps he was just giving me the "company line," but he told me that for liability reasons, they didn't list a weight limit. If they were installed improperly or the lag screws used to hang them were inferior in nature, that could affect their ability to support weight. But he did say that in testing at the factory, they had far more than 600 lbs. hanging on them individually and had no problems.Since they have a moving part supported with a hinge pin, I'm also wondering if the constant motion will eventually take its toll. But I have no way of knowing that right now since they haven't been in use all that long. This was another problem with the traditional eye screw & S hook... over time, the constant back & forth of the swing would wear on them and a noticeable notch would be worn into each steel part. But in all fairness, the metal fatigue eventually led to their failure before they wore through. And, you could observe the wear through periodic inspection. Finally, the fact that they are mounted with TWO lag screws per hanger gives some extra safety. Should one of them break, the other one should be strong enough to keep the entire assembly from coming down.I am hopeful that this swing hanger set solves my porch swing problem once and for all. I'm soon going to be at the age where a quick trip to the porch floor may entail a quick trip to the emergency room. I'm counting on that not to be the case with these.

I bought this set to hang a custom made bed swing, that a twin mattress would fit in. I have a 16' x 40' deck I just had a roof installed on and they work great. My builder made a beam of 3 2x8s with a 2x4 bottom to tie it together. I'm not a little guy (around 280lbs) so I looked for something heavy duty, I really love the springs much better than what I could find at my local big box store. The hangers I found locally were big and made from cast iron, these are ABS plastic around metal and are thin but well made and should hold for years to come, I had read reviews for what I thought were these brackets alone and the complaint was most often that 1/2" lag bolts would not fit, I wanted to hang mine before Memorial day so I bought 3/8" x 6" lag bolts before mine arrived. I think 1/2" might fit but after a small pilot hole and much elbow grease I think I have a better chance of pulling the roof down before the swing falls. I've used it every day since I hung it up and love it. I highly recommend this set for any swing you wish to mount.
