I'm actually surprised at how clean and usable the audio is from this non-powered microphone.

It is no better than the mic on a phone or on the digital camera. Complete waste of money. My iPhone mic sounds ten times better than this did.

I'm a bit of a technophobe but the mic was easy to install and use.

NO Directionallity AT ALL! It picks up voices Directly behind just as well as straight in front.Used it for an outdoor seminar and the Traffic noise - from @ 110° off Center came through Loud and Clear.Love the Mount, the Deadcat is Great, it's Plug&Play with my new Moto phone, comes in a nice box.Hopefully a couple wraps of Gaffer Tape will block the side noise

I’m a videographer of 9 years, and I’ve pretty much only owned the Rode VideoMicro. I was looking to buy another for my second camera, but decided on the Synco M1s instead - and it was a great decision! It’s quite comparable sound wise to the Rode VideoMicro, but what the Synco M1s excels at is the build quality. The shock mount is WAY more robust than the VideoMicro’s - that shock mount was always too wobbly. The cold shoe on the Synco is also metal with a metal fastener so contact feels way more secure. And price wise - you get it an unbeatable value.Perfect mic for vlogging or a backup mic for interviews. Best of all, no battery required. Just make sure the camera you’re using it on has decent onboard preamps! Most modern cameras do.Overall - this thing just works and does a heck of a job at that!

Consigliatissimo

Work on the camera well for the price

Generally I really like this mic for the price. It's definitely better than my phone's mic. I haven't loaded anything I recorded with it into a DAW yet to analyze, so that's just a perception-based evaluation. My two biggest annoyances are that the cable is coiled. Yes, that's two annoyances in one. The cable would be long enough for my liking if it weren't coiled. It's also harder to get the cable to go where I want it to go.Edit: There was no M1S size when I bought this, and Amazon just defaulted the size to M1S, giving no option to change it. My review is actually of the M1.

So the SYNCO M2 mic is a super easy microphone to deal with, you can use it with your professional camera or even can be used with your cell phone all you have to do is flip the switch on the back on the its is pretty much that easy. I leave this microphone in my car and use it as a backup microphone you don't need batteries at runs right off of the camera or cell phone so that's a big plus. for the price the sound is way better than I thought would be available for this price range. this microphone is super light and portable. the sound pattern on this microphone is really good. if you're looking for a cheap affordable microphone this is definitely one you should look at.
