I ordered these to help keep my butt up while training for Ironman. They tore the very first time I put them on. I didn’t notice that they helped much. In the end I ended up wearing a full wetsuit for the race in Maine. They were very expensive and not worth the money in my opinion. The fit was awkward l, they were comfortable enough but definitely not flattering at all. Got this pair because they were the thickest. Wouldn’t buy them again, sadly.

I like these shorts. They are thin and mildly buoyant, meaning they don’t lift you in the water very much, but they definitely help. I’m NOT a good swimmer and these gave me just enough help to allow me to get the laps in until my technique was solid enough to go to jammers in the pool. If your event allows a full wetsuit, use it. These don’t replace that, but they are great for training swims, and seems pretty resilient to chlorine as well. I recommend them.

So far so good. The last buoyancy suit I purchased on Amazon from another company didn't last after 3 months of daily swims of up to an hour. I carefully rinse them in the shower with clear water. This suit fits more snugly and water doesn't leak in very much. My stroke and variable kick techniques have improved wearing them. If there is any wear and tear issues in the future I will write another review. I do not believe that will happen with the quality of this wetsuit.

Don't know why they are asking for warmth rating...these are SHORTS, so they are not going to be "warm" and is the whole reason I got them: The lakes get HOT in the summer. So, they are doing what I want--giving me a sense of "security" and buoyancy in the water as I open-water swim, but not roasting me, bc even a short-john gets too hot during the dog-days of July & August. Buy them according to your weight and you will be fine. They are basically unisex. I am female and got the "men's" as the women's were "sold out." I suppose if a woman has larger than average hips (I don't) then a women's cut might be better. Drawstring is nice, and these do not ride too low, as I have heard some do. The 5/3 neoprene combo is great for open water and still able to easily breast stroke kick; probably not what you want in the pool, but I don't use them there. Thinner neoprene would probably be cooler, but defeat the buoyancy issue. Kinda bummed, though: They took $10 off LITERALLY the day after I got these in the mail. Oh well.

They made it possible for me to add lap swimming to my workout options. They are well-made, and I look like they will last a long time. Selecting the right size can be challenging. Based on my experience, I suggest ordering one size larger that the chart suggests. I am a 5'4" (164 cm) and I weigh 127 lb (57 kg), so I ordered size sSmall. They were uncomfortably tight, so I replaced them with Medium, which turned out to be just right for me.!

I bought the shorts expecting to gain some seconds on my pace, for my surprise the gain was much higher than I expected (8s/100m). It really helps to create consciouness about your body position while swimming. After some weeks I noticed that I am more aware of my hips and improved my technique while swimming without the shorts. TheThe reason that it won't receive 5 stars is because some of the glue from junctions of the shorts got separated on my second use.

I use this product with a wetsuit top for many activities, wakeskating, diving, surfing basically instead of a spring suite. Wetsuit shorts are great for warmth without being hot in 72 to 65 degree water. They are wind resistant which is great for wakeskating or surfing where the wind can be an issue. Fit was as expected, quality after a month of use at about 20 sessions wear is non existent (like new still).
