I got these for the 8th grade sax player in the family. He alternates between alto and bari sax. He said he likes these because they play easily without needing a break in period. He likes the sound he gets with them and feels comfortable playing throughout his range at all dynamic levels. He has been playing for several years so he is best characterized as an intermediate level player.

Ordered a slightly bigger size than I should have purchased, but they work! Great reeds I have for playing for backup when needed.

So, these are the second type of reeds I try from SYOS and I am pleased to say that when paired with the appropriate mouth piece, these things sound super nice. I ran a test with three Bari mouth pieces where one was a SYOS. Needless to say, it’s the one that sounded the best in my opinion compared to some low end brands that I tried these reeds with. The tones are deep and clear with an elegance to the Bravado. I’m really enjoying these reeds.

I like but don't love these reeds. They produce a decent sound when properly prepped, but even then, the reed closed off at the highest notes and squeaked a bit during quick transitions. The tips are a little thinner than I would have expected, especially for Bari, and as you can see in one of my photos, there was one in the case that never should have made it into the box. Overall these might be fine for beginners, but if they're for a beginner, there are much less expensive reeds that'll play and sound just the same.

Baseline for comparison: Vandoren SR2425 reeds on metal Otto Link 7* mouthpiece.First of all, Syos reeds taste different - not unpleasant, but you'll have to get used to it. Overall, decent reed, not quirky, not temperamental, easily controlled and modulated. Probably a bit brighter than the same strength Vandoren. No problems fitting the mouthpiece - but keep in mind that this one is pretty loose, YMMV.All in all, given the price similar to well known competition, it's a matter of your taste - get a box and draw your opinion; I don't think you will consider money spent on these reeds wasted.

I've got saxes of the 4 common types. I've tried Syos reeds across the whole range and have been very happy with the results across the board. From my perspective, these reeds are along the lines of the Java or V16 reeds. Very responsive. Hardness is about in line as well. Quality is quite good overall - so far no duds in the batch.Syos is a lesser known brand for reeds, but I think they'll soon become one of the brands you think of for quality reeds.

These very much remind me of another popular brand natural material reeds for the bari. I use a Berg Larsen metal mouthpiece, which has a narrower profile. These fit with the ligature, but did require a bit of manual profiling. I'm used to synthetic reeds as my primary, and I like having these as a backup. I do think they sound fine and give a decent tone. Everyone plays different, but I found these to be good for practice and would think they would do well for an early career bari sax player. The reed stiffness chart provided in the description was very helpful and I would say it is accurate.

I don't know much about reeds for a saxophone, but I work with my daughter high school marching band and hold onto a few extra backup reeds for all the instruments that use them. I brought these reeds to the band director for approval and when we had some students try them out, he was not "blown away" by the quality... but were a great option for an emergency backup reed. The reed performs good for a young player still in the public school system, but moving on from that point, these reeds would most likely not be a "go to" for the first choice. For that reason, I can only recommend these reeds for a young player in high school or as an emergency backup reed when needed.
