Product Description

Taco Zone Sentry zone valves provide on-off, normally open or normally closed control in closed hydronic systems (See Geo-Sentry for open system application). The Z075C2 Zone Sentry Zone Valve is a normally closed model. The valves can be used in a wide variety of heating and condensing cooling applications, primarily designed for use with baseboard, fan coils, radiators, convectors, air handlers, heat pumps and radiant applications. These valves are designed for indoor use only. Maximum Operating Pressure: 300 PSI. Maximum Shutoff Pressure: 125 PSI. Maximum Ambient Temperature: 135°F. Fluid Temperature Range: 20 - 220°F (-7°C - 104°C). Service: Water or Water/Glycol up to 50% Glycol Close Systems. Electrical Rating: 24 VAC, 60Hz, 0. 48 A. Power Consumption (Charging): 11. 44 W, 0. 48 A. Power Consumption (Power On): 1. 44 W, 0. 06 A. Heat Anticipator Setting: 0. 5 A. End Switch Rating: 1 A @ 24 VAC. Constructed with High Performance Polymer, Forged Brass, Brass, Modified Teflon and EPDM.

From the Manufacturer

Taco Zone Sentry Zone Valves provide on-off, normally open or normally closed control in both open and closed hot or chilled water systems. The valves can be used in a wide variety of heating and cooling applications, primarily designed for use with fan coils, radiators, convectors, air handlers, heat pumps and radiant applications. Savings and efficiency are what the Zone Sentry is all about. Using patented technology and microcircuit-based logic, it draws just 1.44 watts when it’s ON, and is expandable to up to 12 zone valves per standard 40 VA transformer, saving on components. The Taco Zone Sentry Zone Valve enhances the overall performance of any zone valve system. The unique patented technology in the Zone Sentry utilizes a microcircuit based logic to control a gear driven electronic actuator which drives a ball valve based body design. All this adds up to a zone valve that leads the industry in energy efficiency, flow capacity (Cv), shutoff pressure rating, ease of installation, diagnostic capability and the number of valves (12) that can be use on a standard 40VA transformer.

All Taco products are excellent quality and are built for long life. This zone valve has the handle on the top to manually open or close.

Easy to install. Really enjoy the LED light that comes on to tell you what the valve is doing-- charging-- opening, etc. I bought two of these in order to split my base board hot water system into two zones. The action to remove the actuator head from the valve body is very easy, and secure. I enjoyed that the terminal blocks can un-clip from the actuator head, this made wiring up the command and end switch very easy as I was able to unclip the block, make my connections in a comfortable position, then clip them back into the actuator. The manual knob is easy to use as well (if needed), simply push down and rotate. I attached some photos of valves in position but before being wired to my DIY 'zone controller.' The valves have been working perfectly for several months now. I would totally buy more of these if I needed them.

Great product! Works very well! You can turn the valve on manually as well or connect it to your zone valve control!

This is a great upgrade from the older zone valves. The mechanics are also backwards compatible. This is the coolest valve ever.

recently need to update zone valves in the house (normal wear and tear). They no longer make the valve that I had. Ordered this as the applicable upgraded version. Much quieter than the older. Seems to be built better as well.

Just received my Zone valves. The design is smart for the most part, with the exception of the turn mechanism for the manual open or shut off operation. The piece is plastic, and one of my valves was delivered with the plastic piece broken. looking forward to getting the unit installed, and hope it will work much better than my ancient honeywell system.

This valve is great. I had a zone valve (also a Taco brand) that went bad after 27 years. The improvements are the motor can be completely removed from the valve so there is no danger of the motor being damage when it is soldered, This valve is a simple ball valve, where as the old valve a strange type of gate valve. The old valve had 4 loose wires inside the cover that you used wire nuts to connect to the control circuit; this new valve has a removable terminal strip that was much easier to connect the control wire. This valve has LED that indicates when it is on. This valve is much better in function than the valve it replaced in design, function, and connectivity.
