Was having algae issues. Checked phosphate... over 35000 PPM (reclaimed water sprinklers sometimes blow into pool). Used one bottle of Phosfree max... Zero PPM. Problem solved.

This kit was exactly as advertised. The results matched the pool store test. I purchased the kit from SDS with in date reagents that were packaged securely. Totally recommend this test if you run a salt pool. It’s

Test kit arrived with expiration dates out 2 years which is great. Test works properly letting you know why no matter how much algicyd or chlorine you have in your pool the algae still grows. It is because phosphates feed algae. I have my chlorine at 8 ppm and my PH at 7.2 normal on alkalinity, hardness but algae was still growing. I have back washed the filtration and rinsed filters. Test showed phosphates over 1500 ppm. With phosphate reducer added I got this done under 200 and magically the algae went away. I can now let the sun burn off the chlorine down to 3 ppm and should be good to swim.

This works fine. If you own a pool you need to know how much Phosphate in your water. IF you have Phosphates you will fight algae. Phosphates are food for any algae, no food you starve the algae out. This is the test to see how much phosphates you have, and based on the test, you will need Phosphate remover to add to the water. I test three times a year, add phosphate removed as needed and now never have any issues with water quality.

This product allows me to 1.) confirm that phosphate remover product actually works, 2.) which in turn captures any degraded metal sequestrant (orthophosphate) into my filter to avoid it becoming algae food, which 3.) reduces the frequency and severity of algae blooms in my pool when I don't maintain chlorine/pH/CYA levels. Based on this test and the size of your pool, you can determine the correct amount of phosphate remover to use. The test is very easy to use and only requires 3 minutes to complete. Many people will tell you that you don't need to be concerned with phosphates in your pool IF you maintain chlorine levels. Well, you don't need a seat belt IF you don't get into a car accident either. Keeping your phosphate levels below 125ppb is similar to wearing a seat belt. It's just another way to mitigate the frequency and severity of an unwanted outcome (algae bloom), but it doesn't mean you can ignore basic sanitation.

I am no pro when it comes to pool care, but I am cheap and I don't want to hire a pool person to do the chemicals for $50 plus bucks a month!Phosphates are food for algae...get rid of the phophates and keep your pool balanced and you get rid of the algae. This is a simple kit that I added on to my Taylor K-2006. Now I can keep an eye on those levels and keep my pool in perfect shape. This kit has an acid in it-- so be wise and read the instuctions. I wear rubber gloves and eye protection and do the test outside (in case of spills). Before buying this and the Taylor K-2006, I had ZERO experience in pool chemical testing and I was actually quite nervious about taking charge of my pool chemical needs. After getting the K-2006 kit and this kit, that all changed! I used You tube videos from Taylor to help me. Now I really enjoy testing the pool water weekly and I also am quite proud of the perfect pool water balance that the pool now has, thanks to Taylor! You can't go wrong with Taylor!
