Wide pupil diameter and adjustable eye relief make this eyepiece ideal for comfortable long-duration observation sessions. Contrast is enhanced by an adjustable height rubber eyecup that prevents stray light from degrading the image transmitted through the ocular. Anti-reflective multicoated optics ensures bright, high contrast, color faithful images from edge to edge.

I seen two others talking about kidney beaning and difficult to see out of. One thing the eye relief is great dont know if your wearing glasses or without that may have some issues I do not use eyeglasses while viewing do you have a good quality mirror diagonal for your eyepiece to telescope fitting if you do not. That could be an issue right there you can’t expect to put an expensive eyepiece on cheaper components and get great results. This was my setup a stellarvue 102 triplet refractor 2” baader planaterium diagonal and a line of tele vue Delos series 2” eyepieces. I also have a celestron cg6” tube it has 1.5” and if I use the celestron with an adapter to use the 2” it honestly doesn’t look much better than a cheaper plossi eyepieces but if I use the baader planetarium diagonal it makes that cassiegrain look phenomenal not as great as the stellarvue but. They are two totally different telescopes. So with the people having kidney been issues it may not be the eyepiece itself if you have a friend or someone you can borrow another diagonal or try it on a different telescope you may be able to pinpoint whether it’s a diagonal eyepiece or telescope issue . Just saying. Because I tried them in mediocre components and also in high end components sometimes it’s you get what you pay for but on a side note to that explorer scientific makes a really great set of eyepieces similar to the televue quality but I do find there not as bright as televue but honestly depends on how much you want to pay for and what performance you are looking for. Now picture above is just giving you an example of of my stellervue with a zwo color camera capturing part of the North American nebula. 3 min exposure settings on camera.

Using two in a BT 70-45 binocular. Excellent clarity and love the large glass at the eye piece end. It has a 20 mm eye relief as do all the Delos line and if you are used to eyepieces with shorter eye relief (most others) you maybe habitually pushing your eye closer to the glass than needed and yes you will get the kidney bean, Hint: Delos had an adjustable eye piece for that reason. Adjust that (mine is at the top of the second triangle as in the picture on this page your best position may vary) Also extend the eyecups. Keeps dirt eyelash grease etc. off the lens and make you bring your eye a bit farther back. To get the kidney bean now I actually have to push my eyes into the eyecups. Very happy with it!

Got this for my 8 inch dob mounted newt which gives 100x and a 2.0mm exit pupil. But this thing is difficult to maintain eye position. If you have a harsh thought, hello kidney beaning! Are the optics clean, bright and uniform out to the edge? Yep. But the kidney beaning man. Not sure why I paid 340.00 for this. I no longer trust myself with the debit card.

Great views but eye placement is paramount here and blackouts / kidney beaning is abundant. The adjustable eyeguard that this comes with is needed.
