- Connect your device to WiFi
- Create an account on myspool.com and click on email link to confirm it or login to your existing account
- Confirm your email subscription for this device to receive alert notifications
You are done: check your device status on myspool.com MY DEVICES page for last updates
You can add a phone number and change message and other settings at any time.
Device Configuration: 3 steps
MySpool device setup Summary
1. Connect your device to WiFi
2. Create account on myspool.com
3. Configure your email and text message on myspool.com
The first step is the most challenging one. It should also be done first so that MySpool servers can identify your device when you login to configure it.
Step 1. Connect your device to WiFi
Open your phone, go to Settings, and choose Wi-Fi. Under the CHOOSE A NETWORK tab you will see available networks. One of them will be the MySpool Device. It will look like SASensor-000000 where "000000" is the unique device ID. In the example it is shown as SASensor-2336877. Click on it.
Once connection is established, which may take a few seconds, it will open a browser window with Alerts WiFi Manager.
Step 1, continued. Configure WiFi
Click Configure WiFI. You will see a list of networks that MySpool device can use.
Select your WiFi router and enter its password. Click Save. Note: SAS network will not be visible on your phone after this step.
You can now use your laptop or smartphone to create an account on myspool.com and specify where you want your emails and text messages sent.

Difficult to setup on some phones, device failed after 3 months, replacement device no good, wouldn't connect even with myspool tech assist, proteus more expensive but super easy to setup on any phone, proteus software much better than myspool

This is the perfect device to monitor and record the temperature and humidity range in your greenhouse but more importantly have alerts sent to you in case of over temperature via email or SMS text. Great device!

The first unit I got from Amazon wouldn't send any data. I spoke to their very knowledgeable tech support guy and he checked the configuration and determined it was an issue with the device and sent me a new one directly from them. The new one arrived within 2 days and worked immediately. Really good support.The product works good, keeps a graph of temp ranges and sends email and sms alerts if the internet stops working. A little confusing to get configured but overall a Nice product.

As others have noted, the setup is not easy due to unclear instructions which were clearly written by someone for whom English isa second language. Once I got it running, it is easy to check temperature from my cell phone anytime ... except when power goes out. Then I have nothing ... And that is when I need to know something ... After power comes back on, it takes a bit of time to reset and then supplies accurate information again. Be careful what you click on on the app screen ... I will disconnect you and you then have to sign in again ...

This would not link to my internet through my phone or iPad. Instructions for tech support seemed overly complicated.

There is no consistency between their devices. It is a different process to receive text messages from the temperature device and the power out device. It seems very convoluted. The programming is poor. The Support group is good and with their help I was able to get every thing running correctly.

I bought this before going on a trip when the weather was going to be unusually cold, like -15F air temp.Reasonably priced and works as expected. Easy to configureMyspool would send me email alert when the temp falls below what I configured.I then monitored the home temp thru myspool web site using both a laptop and a phone app. It's a bit harder on the phone due to the small screen

Sets up easily, tested the alert system and it works flawlessly. Using it in my freezer and gives a lot of peace of mind that all is OK even when not at home.

I had a leak issue that cause thousands of dollars a few years back. I had no idea there was a leak until the damage was done. Shortly after I finished the costly repairs, i searched for a WiFi water detection system that would send me alerts. MySpool fit that need 110%. Now, I have several MySpool devices round the house. Most are water detection, and now I have added a temp and humidity device so that I can monitor the basement. I can’t say enough about MySpool. The products are well made and have given me early warnings on things that could have had a big monetary impact.
