Make sure the following conditions are ALL MET before starting installation:
- Ceiling joists must be solid wood, at least standard 2x4 lumber or larger.
- Spacing between joists should be 24 inches or less (commonly 12", 16", or 24").
- Joists must be in good condition, free from damage or weaknesses that could reduce strength.
- The installation location must be structurally sound, with no issues like rot or damage that could cause failure.
- Use a 3/16-inch diameter, 3-inch-long drill bit to create pilot holes for anchoring

This is a great storage solution, added a ton of storage space to our garage. The quality is excellent, it was easy to install, and it is surprisingly sturdy despite the fact that it hangs from the ceiling. We also took advantage of the fact that the unit can be split, and each half installed at different elevations. Would recommend.
