This eyepiece for the Canon R3 (not for other Canon models) is a great accessory if you're shooting outdoors in bad weather. It fits with the Think Tank Hydrophobia rainproof cover, and you'll need this eyepiece so the cover fits the camera perfectly and remains waterproof.The eyepiece fits as a replacement for the regular Canon one perfectly. I wouldn't say it's the most comfortable eyepiece, especially if you're used to putting your eye closely against the cushioned one that comes with the R3, but in the rain it's what you need. Also, because it's flat, you can use it effectively with glasses as well as just your direct eye on it.A must for shooters who take the R3 out into the rain with the Think Tank cover.

This eyepiece is much more rugged than the one that comes with the R3. Granted, it's designed for use with the Hydrophobia, but it can clearly take a beating. It fits snugly and I would consider using this as a full-time eyepiece should I need to replace my existing one. The only downside for full-time use I can see is that it protrudes out more than the Canon R3 eyepiece.

I have the Aquatech sports shield and this eyecup works the same way. Aquatech hasn't made an R3 eyepiece yet so took a chance on this one and it works great.

The original Canon R eyepiece degraded after a few months use but Canon has not had a replacement eyepiece available for over a year. Thank you THINK TANK PHOTO - your eyepiece should work well - prompt shipping, no issues putting it on. *Update 9/23- back to Canon to wait for replacement - foam edging on the Think Tank product fell off too.
