This bearing is designed to move the seal surface inward for axles that are grooved. The actual bearing rides in a carrier that makes it smaller than OEM and it's harder for the lube to get into the bearing. You also can't get an OEM sized seal into the tube with this installed. This is a stopgap for a vehicle that needs axles, and the compromise isn't worth it. It needs to be listed as a repair bearing, and it shouldn't take a call to Timken to find out what I bought.

Great price and worked exactly like it should on my 1998 Expedition with the 9.75 axle and 1.702 axle shaft size.
