The unit seems to be relatively well-made with a tough plastic housing and thick metal fittings. The bottom panel of the housing is removable by unscrewing the four phillips head screws in the bottom, but don’t do it! The contents have a strong spring and all of the parts need to be properly aligned when you put it back together. The two brass pieces fit into custom shaped grooves inside. I initially thought that this might come in handy for swapping sides, if you wanted the switch to face in the opposite direction, but that can be more easily accomplished by just unscrewing the battery post from one side and moving it to the threaded hole on the other side. Believe me when I tell you that taking it apart is absolutely not worth it! I learned these things so you don’t have to!!Internally, there is a copper strip with two contacts which are lubricated with dielectric grease. These then rotate into position to complete the circuit between the two brass tongues that stick out from either side. These brass components are thick, durable, and robust. Due to the strong spring mentioned above, the switch pops into place with a very satisfying audible click. The great thing about this switch is that it eliminates the need to physically disconnect the battery cable of an unused vehicle while in storage. This simple device makes battery drainage prevention so much easier. In conclusion, I think that this device is useful and well-made.

Super easy to installl, works like it states and gets the job done. Cant speak about longevity but out of the gate it is all good. Have no complaints so far.

This battery disconnect is made of strong plastic and metal components. The switch works well and clicks positively, and the hardware is strong and works well. It appears to have a gold coating on the battery connect points to increase connectivity. I use this on my 2019 RAM 1500 DT Big Horn for a few different purposes. First, it makes a great battery disconnect for longer storage to prevent battery drain as modern computers will drain the battery over 2 or 3 weeks. Second, it is an easy security device as most thieves will try and start the truck and then not bother to pop the hood and check the battery cable (excellent for down town events in Houston). Finally, I like to work on my truck a lot, so it is nice to be able to disconnect the battery quickly without un bolting the points. This fits a 12V automotive post-style battery great and is very low cost, high quality. I highly recommend.

I'm using this on a battery I have on my cargo trailer. It had a solar trickle charger directly connected to it to maintain it, but I wanted to have the option of isolating it to prevent overcharging. With this switch wired onto the positive post, I can run the positive wire from the charger onto the post of the switch and simply cut the connection by turning it off. It is a perfect solution!

This 15-17mm stuff, who knows? Well it fits right on a big old DieHard battery, more than 12.5" long, weighs a ton. Setting it up as a second battery in vehicle to run inverter. This well-built negative pole shut-off switch easily slid down on the negative terminal right out of the box - no adjustment at all! So, terminal size is not an issue. This unit means safety and peace of mind, making it so easy to disconnect the second battery completely when not using an inverter or charging the battery. Connection of 12v battery shut-off switch is recommended to be on the negative terminal, not the positive (as many might think at first). The entire unit looks as solid as the lead battery connectors on any vehicle; it is a very simple design with little that could go wrong. This battery actually has a second threaded post on top for accessories, and I discovered that this switch will also connect right to that (by removing the swiveling terminal clamp - the hole fits the post well and you can use the large wing nut from the switch to secure it). So this fits both regular (large) 12v negative battery terminals AND standard terminal posts - if your battery has both, you can choose one and still have the other for something else. Sometimes vehicle battery space is tight - even when round negative post is the only option, this switch should still easily fit, because of the swivel mount design. Very nice! Two photos show red switch being mounted to threaded post; the other two show how the terminal clamp fits nicely (had not been tightened in photos) on the round terminal post.

I'm using this as a solar cut off for a 60 amp solar charger at 24 volts and so far so good. It functions well, it has 5 Ohms resistance through the On switch . The plates are thick and mount to a ANL Fuse block perfectly or 3/8 inch bolt size . The rating is 100 amp contious or 300 amp for 10 mins which is perfect for my solar setup. It's a good price, easy to set up, looks nice and fits perfectly . It's built good as far as I can see , I would expect it to last a few hundred shut offs and on without issue.

12v battery disconnect- negative side. Not a fan of the wing nut connection, more attachment points=more places for resistance in my experience. I would NOT recommend this on the hot side due to exposed conductor, but it's fine on the earth side. Note that it will be an issue on euro style batteries with recessed terminals. Could be adapted with a longer bolt and copper/brass spacer to raise the switch- UNLIKE the single piece designs sold. I keep a lot of old cars in storage and these work great for that scenario. Would also be ok for a boat or equipment. I'm using it on 12V systems- but will PROBABLY be ok for 24 volt as well- although I didn't check the specs for that.
