Very solid construction, not flimsy. Handles are comfortable. Use it for both high pressure road tires and high volume mountain bike tires. I really like the guage on the handle, makes it easy to read. The hose is long, allows me to pump the tire while bike is hanging on the wall.

Extremely well-built, pumps like a champ. Being an ape that I am I even use this to pump my SUV tires—no issues whatsoever (takes like 50 pumps to go from 27 to 40psi, but I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, so there's that).

Bought based on the 5 star reviews, and it is pretty good, but I don't like it nearly as much as the 15 year old Nashbar pump it replaced. This pump doesn't seem as robust, especially around the gauge mechanism, which is all plastic. A key part of that mechanism is the yellow pressure indicator arrow you use to mark your desired pressure, but it fits so loosely that you can't trust it to stay in position from one day to the next, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a fixed indicator arrow. Also am not a fan of the design of the two-sided nozzle with the lever on the side, which I may get used to but feels a bit awkward compared to my old nozzle which had a lever that was aligned with the hose, making the locking action feel much more natural. Finally, not really a complaint but an observation that the reach of the hose -- about 38" above floor -- is probably fine for 99% of people, but it is about 4" less than my old pump and as it turns out that 4" makes a difference because I fill my tires while my bike hangs on the wall with wheels about 12 inches above floor. With old pump the hose could easily reach the valve regardless of wheel position but with new pump it doesn't reach to top of the wheel so I have to rotate it to get the valve lower. I understand why they wouldn't design the hose to reach that high, but nevertheless the next time around I'll be looking for a pump with a longer hose.

I've tried several of the dual-piston foot-operated floor pumps and I liked those because they're compact and easy to carry in a car. However, they always had poor build quality and struggled to get my Gator Hardshell 700x28 tires to 110 psi. While this pump isn't nearly as compact as a foot pump, it does the job awesomely so I'm going to make room for it. I remove the three bolts holding the base to the pump to make it more compact. It took about 25 strokes to get the tire to 115 psi and yeah, the last few strokes took some effort but that's just how floor pumps are. I especially like the chuck lock. It fits very tightly with zero leakage on Presta valves and the lever moves smoothly sideways, not outward. On other floor pumps, the lever flips outwards quickly and always seems to whack my fingers or knuckles when I release it. But that doesn't happen with the Joe Blow due to the smooth lever design. Also, when you release the chuck lever, there is only the tiniest puff of air released from the hose - no huge loss of air from the tire as with cheaper pumps. The gauge is very easy to read and I've checked it against my garage air compressor for accuracy. The base is not as stable as I would like but then the base would have to be larger so I'm OK with that. It appears to be very solidly built. I love it.

the pump is not standing straight, kinda leans and wobbles a bit from the base... was able to correct by bending back with a bit of force. product was in a Frustration Free Packaging. oh well... its still ok, I think.

The other reviews and top 10 sites all list this near the top. They are correct. A bit pricier than a cheap pump, but the gauge is larger and easier to read than a cheap one. It has a stamped metal base that holds the pump securely/firm when you are stepping on it to pump. The pump nozzle has schrader (large) on one side and presta (small) on the other, locking "away" from the tube stem determines airflow direction. The adjustable marker on the gauge moves easily, but can be shifted if hit while pumping (only gets you close anyway). Pump action is solid, but is not uniform, the first 1/3 is "easy" and then compressing gets harder (to hard for my little kids, but easy enough for an adult, I have pumped my road bike tires to 100 psi with 1 arm). The pump has a couple of accessories that are securely fit on the pump by the gauge; after a few weeks of use and manhandling by my kids they are still in place (my old cheap pump lost those accessories almost immediately. In summary: It costs more but you get what you pay for. I expect this pump to last a long time given the build quality and will be worth two or more cheap pumps making it more economical in the long run.

I bought this to replace an old Park Tool pump and must say very pleasantly surprised. I too reviewed a multitude of other pumps with some being much more. The valve connector was something that interested me most. The valve attachment specifically for a presta valve works extremely well, doesn't leak and truly one of the best I've used. The pressure gauge is spot-on and been confirmed against separate high end gauge. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and glad I no longer have to struggle with attaching the pump to my presta valves with the added bonus of no leaks or losing air when attaching or removing the valve connector. There truly are cheaper and more expensive pumps, however when considering the quality and features of this pump, believe it's truly an excellent value!

So far the pump has worked well, I have seen nicer pumps but generally, they are more expensive.

Good and reliable metal pump for emergency. I always have it in the trunk in case the automatic pump stops working
