I bought this for Europe travel, nice size to fit everything for a day trip but not oversized and bulky. Design is good and the anti-theft clips gave me peace of mind.

Took this bag on a 10 day trip all over Italy, including places heavily populated with pickpockets. At first I was hesitant to get this bag since the security system was just clips, but it worked great! I love all in the inner pockets and it's the perfect size for a causal day bag and an airplane personal item. Even stood the test against a few days of rain

great brand, totally supporter of Travelon bags, but there are a few points constantly misleading in their design and functionality! RFID is great to have, even small, but what is the point, if the wallet, money and all valuables are suppose to go into the front, this should be considered for the main compartment, with a safety lock system, not just the zipper closure unit, which is a great idea, but for laptop, tablet, phone, money, not safe enough. The front pocket can rather be used for sun glasses, tissues, book, pad, pen, etc, but not for valuables. Main compartment is great with pockets/ dividers, but as said, it should keep the valuable, hence it should be re-organised/ re-designed. The opening of the main compartment, is not great either, it is to narrow, zipper should have been installed more wider, with a wider entry of your hands/ arms to get in and out. I you want to carry a laptop it's possible, but when adding up all into this bag, it gets quickly full and heavier. ;-). What is great, are the outside pockets with outside zippers, for slick design, and once opened one can add water bottle, and umbrella. that is a great function. missing a sling for adding backpack to the top of your suitcase, and could have a hidden back pocket, at the back. Not suitable for someone who likes a true safety, but its a great city backpack, for a day, but for longer travel far away, might be too tiny.

I am hoping to do a good bit of traveling in the future, and decided I wanted to invest in a nice daypack. I was looking for one with anti-theft features, that would fit under an airline seat, and be comfortable to wear. I was not looking for something that would hold a weekend’s worth of clothes, and was not interested in bigger backpacks. I couldn’t decide based on reviews, and ended up ordering Travelon Anti-theft classic backpack – 11 liters - $65, Pacsafe – Style safe 12 liter Anti-theft Backpack - $119, and Pacsafe Metrosafe L5350 15 liter Anti-theft daypack/backpack - $100The Pacsafe bags have the turn and lock feature where you can lock a strap around a chair or other object. All three bags had a light gray interior. There are plenty of in-depth reviews of these bags, so I am including photos and my key takeawaysMetrosafe L350ProsStyle would work for man or womenTurn and lock featureBigger – if that is what you needConsThe carabiner lock device for the main compartment zipper was made of plastic. It seemed flimsy to me compared to the rest of the bag. It is a lock you would use all the time and I just don’t see it holding up for years.TravelonProsStylishMini flashlight attached to key holder to view contents when you are in a dark areaOne side pocket zips closd to hide umbrella or other itemAlmost half the price of PacsafeConsNo turn and lock featureStylesafeProsStylishTurn and lock featureOpening to main compartment is against your back while wearing the bag. Most comfortable (to me)ConsTablet would not fit into sleeve while it was in it's casePriceI actually liked the feel of the material and the fit of the Stylesafe the best, and I really wanted the turn and lock feature. However, the fact it would not fit my tablet in it’s case was a huge drawback. The Travelon was a close second for me in fit and material. It also felt roomier than the Stylesafe. At almost half the price of the Stylesafe, it is hard not to recommend this bag. The attached mini flashlight, zippered side pocket, and configuration of the interior pockets won me over. This is the bag I kept, despite it not having the turn and lock feature that I really wanted.Either the Pacsafe Stylesafe or Travelon classic would make excellent day packs. They are not meant to be a weekend bag. Metrosafe has plenty of excellent reviews. It was a little bigger than what I was planning to use it for, and I could not get over the plastic clipBottom line – These all seem to be well made secure bags so choose what meets your needs and personal preference.

For an upcoming coach train trip from Chicago to Albuquerque I searched for a backpack that met these criteria: It must be scaled to my 5’ size while being roomy enough for a weekend, secure, well constructed and usable also as a day bag. This bag meets these criteria! Here is what I easily fit into this bag for my test pack: An Amazon Basics small packing cube holding a pair of jeans, a long sleeve knit shirt, 2 pair of socks and underwear, a bra and a caftan; a Travelon light weight toiletries cube (approx 8”x6”x3”) holding deodorant, toothbrush and paste, a couple of prescriptions, a small bag with foundation, blush, mascara and lipstick and another clear zip bag with liquids (lotion, shampoo, hairspray, conditioner); my IPad in the tablet/laptop slot at the back of the main compartment; a small zipper bag with backup charger, earbuds, adapters, phone and battery cables; my knitting (for multitasking while watching scenery); snacks (a small bag of nuts, one of candy, an apple, a couple of chocolate bars and a can of the powdered drink I like). All of that went into the main compartment. In the front flap pocket I put some pens and a guide book. My wallet, a coin purse and my phone went into the secure zippered side pocket but these also would have fit in the front flap pocket. That's a lot of stuff! Kind of like the clown car trick. When fully loaded the bag still only weighed 11lbs and didn't knock me down or make me look ridiculously overburdened and clanking with gear! On the underside of the top flap is a zippered pocket that I didn’t use and I also didn’t use the credit card and passport slots in the front flap pocket. That pocket also has pen slots and a narrow pocket that my phone would have fit into if I chose. My travel documents will fit there nicely. My IPad easily fit upright in the 9 1/2” wide inner slot in the main compartment which is not padded but more to keep your tablet from falling over the other contents. The main compartment can open to 11 1/2” at its widest so keep that in mind if you intend this bag for your laptop. Using packing cubes kept things organized while leaving space on each side at the wider bottom to stash snacks baggies or other small items.Let me also vanquish one common complaint that Travelon must have heard often enough to fix: The straps are completely adjustable. In fact each can be shortened to only 18” from shoulder attachment to hip or extended all the way to 32”.The straps are nicely padded and backed with breathable mesh though the back of the bag itself is not. It appears to be sturdily constructed. My wish list to make this the perfect bag would include changing the water bottle pocket to elasticize mesh, adding a sternum &/or waist strap, breathable mesh for the whole back, using dual zippers on top and front flap openings, and offering more interesting colors. Where’s a nice lively red?!Lastly, some commenters have ridiculed the size of the bag as not being adequate apparently because they are big people. Their size doesn't mean this is a bad bag, it just means they didn’t read the specs to choose an appropriate bag for their stature. And take a look at what I fit into it!Once the bag gets through the shake down trip and has a few more miles on it I’ll come back and comment on it’s durability. Happy trails!
