Exactly what I wanted, fits perfectly in my vest. Much more comfortable compared to iron plates!

Easy to fill with funnel and a shimmy shake. However. The seam ripped and sand went all over my gym!

If you have (or are looking for) a vest to train with, this is a great way to get started with adjustable weight for much cheaper. It works great with sand and would probably also handle weight pellets or other small weights just as well. The only downside is that these are thicker when filled than a standard plate (naturally), so if your training plan involves a lot of workouts on your belly or back, you might find yourself taking your vest off a bit more. Not a knock against these plates at all; just something to be aware of.No issues so far with leaking or wearing out. Being nestled inside a weight vest usually insulates them from abrasion and other issues that could cause punctures. If you decide to use sand, make sure to do the following:1. Get a cheap bag of sand, likely from your local hardware store. The Home Depot near us had a 0.5 cubic foot bag of "Play Sand" for $5, and I used a small fraction of that for both sand plates in total.2. Find a large space, preferably in your garage or driveway where having some sand spilled won't hurt anything. Alternatively, lay out some cardboard and/or plastic sheeting (like a drop cloth). You're going to get at least some sand on the floor, so prepare for it now.3. Get a small cup, garden trowel, or similar and begin funneling each small clump of sand into the sand plate, using a plastic funnel, bent piece of cardboard, or similar, Aim for the edge "tubes" first, since those are usually the hardest to get to, working your way to the center.4. Get a scale if you have one, so you can match the weight of the first plate when filling the second. A kitchen scale worked great for me in this case.5. Once you've filled to your desired weight, close the velcro ends and roll up the top. Keep it rolled up as you slide it into the pouch of your vest. Mine had internal straps to keep the plate stationary and I haven't seen any sand escape yet.

Opted for this instead of metal plates for comfort. No pain and no sand leak when using it in my vest.

The product is reasonably built. The material is of a good quality but the holes at the top of the gussets are very small. As I had to force the sand into the holes, some of the stitching let go. I too was not able to get the full 9 pounds into the carrier. I could only get 7 pounds in each. Once filled, they work as advertised in a carrier.

This product is extremely durable. Doesn’t feel cheap. The velcro is sturdy after filling.HOWEVER filling the 5tubes with sand is an extremely difficult time. The stitching is so close together the opening is too small to just pour sand into the top without a funnel and thing that your going to fill this thing easily. What worked was tubing and funnel from the size of a from a beer bong. With the long tubing and funnel, I was able to pinch the tubing and push it down to the bottom of the slot and keep filling with sand. Basically you need small size tubing and a funnel in order to fill to max capacity. I don’t see how else I would of been able to fill this case to capacity without it.FYI, This sandbag-plate does fit into the BearKomplex weight vest. I filled it and it weighed 10lbs. It was very snug, but I was still able to fit it into that BK vest.

These seem fairly well built and don’t seem to leak sand at all. The sand was a bit of a pain to get into the baffles of the vest, and then I topped it off after a run. Velcro closure inside and out (after rolling the top). The biggest challenge with any sand plates is the density of sand (verses the steel plates i normally use). Fully packed, the two “plates” weigh 12 pounds total (used Paver sand from Home Depot / $5) and are much bulkier than my 20 pound steel plates. It is considerably more comfortable with these in my vest than steel plates. But lighter and bulkier.
