On a new Maverick 88, this kit should give you everything you need to add a sling - If your synthetic stock has a screw hole in the stock and threads on the magazine cap, you're good to go. Having tested it out, it works great - Make sure you're cleaning the threads and using epoxy and threadlocker when appropriate. The sling hardware is all working great when carrying in the field and holding up when I actually use it at the range.A few things to note* Make sure you have some epoxy for the stock swivel. The instructions recommend it and it truly locks the swivel in place. I was able to get the swivel holes in the correct position or "timing" when I used the white washer with it.* The front swivel attachment needs some blue threadlocker. The kit comes with a green tube of... something. It's unlabeled and the packaging doesn't tell you what it is. I decided to use some blue threadlocker I already had instead.* The front swivel seems to hold securely. However, mine doesn't time the swivel position to make it perfectly even and aligned perpendicularly. No big deal. It still works. I do wish they made the front swivel screw a little longer and gave you another white plastic washer. One piece of advice: Grab a basic rubber strap wrench if you don't have one. When you screw in that swivel into the magazine tube cap it's very easy to accidentally overtighten the cap too. It can be nearly impossible to unscrew by hand. A rubber strap wrench will save you a lot of trouble if you need to unscrew the magazine tube cap in the future.

Bought this product as I need the anchoring attachments (purchased used and one of them were missing/other was rusted/ugly).This was a great and budget friendly option and also provided the 2 sling attachments for storage to be later used somewhere else. Can't go wrong with this brand! Uncle knows best! Would highly recommend for sling use or if you're just needing the anchoring hardware like I was. As always, fast shipping too!

Has some extra parts I won't need, but could use later if I want to, worth the price to get the strap attached!

The product came in quickly. Just as advertised. Up front... if you have a wood stock/butt like I do? You are going to need to do a diy drill job. Instructions are included, so that's a plus. But all in all... i would definitely buy again. The "glue" helps to keep everything sturdy.. although a little dab of thread locker wouldn't hurt. Not necessary on all applications.. but very helpful. I am most assuredly grateful for the product being what is advertised. And I expect to get years of good use out if it. Would I buy again? YES. good price and good product.

This item is well made and durable with the exception of the magazine cap stud. The problem was not with the U/Mike part but with Mossberg 500E 410. The hole drilled and tapped in the end of the mag cap did not have threads to the correct depth to accommodate the length of thread on the sling stud. I had to use a tap to to extend the thread depth a further 1/16" to provide enough thread to get the shoulder of the sling mounting stud to bottom out. Used the provided loctite to secure the stud. A lock washer would have been another option but the threaded part of the stud is so short it would not be enough thread to secure the stud in the cap. The ideal situation would have been a 1/4" dia. nf thread to a depth of 5/16" in the cap and a stud with matching threads and a couple of hardened shim washers to use as an aid to orient the hole to the proper position for the sling swivel mount pin. Better yet, Mossberg could build the mag cap with a sling mounting stud when manufacturing???

Supplied as advertised as always, I have never had any issues with Uncle mike products. Actually incorporated into another manufacturers shoulder sling which had faulty swivels. The Uncle Mike swivels fit fine and more reliable.

These are great quick detachable swivels. They fit on the Mossberg 500 very well, but you have to understand that to install on the Mossberg 500 (and any other gun not already drilled for swivels) that you will need a couple of drills and taps to complete installation:A No 21 metal drill bit (0.159") to drill into the magazine tube barrel mount.A 10-32 drill tap to tap that hole.A 5/32 wood drill bit - Drill the rear mount hole into the stock.A 7/32 wood drill bit - Chamfer the stock hole. You do NOT need to remove the magazine tube from the receiver. Many Mossberg 500's used a strong threadlock on those threads and they are very, very tight if you haven't had it off before. But you don't need to do it, just remove the magazine tube lock screw and then remove the barrel from the receiver so you can drill into the tube mount boss without danger of drilling through into the mag tube. You only drill and tap about 3/16" deep, so it shouldn't be an issue, but I'm always nervous about over drilling.I wouldn't necessarily elevate the scope of this job to "take to a gunsmith" but you have to know how to mark, drill and tap a small and accurate hole in metal in order to accomplish this job. I've attached an image of the instructions for mounting the swivels.
