If you work on vechicle, atvs, and utvs, get you one of these. I've gotten buy for years with using a big hammer and occasionally having to turn the nut upside down on end of threads and smack directly with hammer. But, after destroying another joint and smashing my fingers again because of odd angles. I decided to upgrade. After first time use, I don't understand why I waited so long.

The Fork was too thick to side under the joint on a 99 Civic outer tie rod end. It worked to put it close and hit with a hammer.

Please save your money. I used it once and the metal deformed. The central pivot pin bent and the ball joint never released. Had to take a trip to Northern Tool and get something else.

I use this to remove a tie rod end on my 2006 Chevy Malibu SS, and it worked well. These tools are not meant to be put on ball joints and tie rod ends, and then cranked on until the ball joint or tie rod releases. They're meant to put tension on the ball joint or the tie rod end, and then you smack the spindle with a hammer, and that normally pops them out. I did have to work it under the boot of the tire rod end so it did not rip. I use the brass hammer and slightly tapped it in. The pivot point has two different holes so it will work on various applications. I would not recommend this on anything bigger than a half ton vehicle, it's just not big enough for that. But if you know how to use one of these, they work well.
