I had leaky hydro's for past 2 years on my 2012 Fastrak 54". I tried replacing just the O-rings but that did not resolve my leaking issue. I then purchased two of these and it works perfectly! I plan to get several more years and hours on my hydros now that the leaking has stopped!

Product seems to be built well but in my case, upon installing, the bolt holes don’t align perfectly with the charge pump holes on the transaxle. I wasn’t able to use these and it’s too late to return them so I’m stuck with them unfortunately.

There are at least two versions of the ZT3100, and for some odd reason my Hustler has one of each. Instructions say the kit will work with either one but that was not my experience.Refer to the picture of the backing plate. If yours has a flat side on one end it should fit. If both ends are rounded you can expect trouble.I ordered a pair, made note of the orientation of the plate since the new one must go on exactly like the old one, and one side installed perfectly. The other side had a plate with with rounded ends. It put up such a fight that I ended up using the new O-ring and reinstalling the old plate. I tried the right way and the wrong way for 30 minutes but the bolt holes were slightly off. Nothing worked. I paid for two and was able to use only one of them, and I'm NOT happy about that.On the positive side, I can say the kit installed perfectly on the side that was leaking. Also, I've had an annoying growl when turning that seems to be gone. That alone was worth the trouble. You will need to have 20W-50 oil on hand to replace what will be lost during the swap. How much depends on how long it takes to replace the parts because the reservoir tank will drain while the backing plates are off. If replacing both sides get 3 quarts. You will probably only need 1 or 2, but if you drop the O ring on the ground, or end up fighting it like I did, a 3rd quart will give you a good safety margin.Purging air out of the system will also be required. If you don't know how to do that you can refer to your manual or search You-Tube. It's very easy. The upgrade is worth it if this is what you need and it fits. I'm just disappointed that one would not bolt up even though the directions said it would work with either ZT3100 version. It was getting dark and starting to rain and 30 minutes was all I the time I could spend on a 5 minute job. I may try again when I have better weather but it's working fine.Lastly, keep everything as clean as possible. Clean your hands, mating surfaces, O ring, and anything else that could transfer grime to the pump. I used carb cleaner spray and a bunch of shop towels.

Perfect fit, great price. Original was leaking hydraulic fluid. A bit tricky to hold the ring seal in place upside down, but doable. Pay attention to marking the orientation as shown on the instructions.
