About this item

  • High Pressure Valve: U.S. Solid brings to your doorstep a high-pressure solenoid valve that can withstand 100 bar of pressure, which is 20 times more resistant than regular solenoid valves !
  • High Temperature Resistance: Not only can work for any high-pressure system but this electronic shut off valve also has excellent temperature resistance for up to 248 degrees F, ensuring flawless operation in any environment.
  • Built for Performance: The solenoid valve is made with high-grade stainless steel and features a strong inner structure that can withstand high pressure and ensures optimal functionality for any water, oil, air, gasoline, fuel and other transfer projects.
  • Super Responsive: Our solenoid valve allows you to control your HVAC systems from distance without delays or errors. Using electromagnetic force, this valve has a very fast response, of only a couple of milliseconds.
  • Wide Range of Applications: Highly resistant, responsive and reliable, this solenoid valve can be used for a wide range of industrial, commercial or household applications, in high-pressure systems, or as a safety or compressor valve.

Product Description

U.S. Solid 1/2" 24V DC Normally Closed Solenoid Valve

1

The U.S. Solid electric solenoid valve features a durable stainless steel body, suitable for outdoor. It's favored by customers for DIY projects, moderate temperature and chemical applications, as well as for controlling flow in irrigation, reverse osmosis, and motorcycle systems.

Direction of the Flow

Most U.S. Solid Valves are UNIDIRECTIONAL

Make a note of the arrow on your valve. Most U.S. Solid valves are unidirectional. This means they are intended to flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. If connected in opposite directions, the valve will not actuate properly (will not close for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, be sure the medium passing through is filtered. If not, particles will cling to the gasket over time, which can cause it to not seal properly.

THREADING

U.S. Solid Valves follow National Standards for pipe thread. We suggest the use of Teflon tape to ensure the seal of the NPT threading. The tapered male and female thread form angled surfaces that with increased torque squeeze the Teflon tape resulting in a tight seal.

OVERHEATING

These valves should be energized for less than 8 hours. While most do not have more than 18W of power, the coils are in a contained area and can burn out if energized for too long. We suggest a computer fan to keep the coil cool if necessary to energize continuously for extended periods.

POLARITY

  • For valves with 2 wires, the valve will actuate regardless of which terminal each wire is connected to (+ or -). Some units include a ground wire. Open up the connector and look for the ground symbol (as shown in the corner).
  • For valves with a ground wire, please be sure to ground the valve.

GASOLINE and PRESSURE WARNING

  • NBR gaskets should not be used with gasoline, kerosene, or other petroleum products. If your valve requires contact with these substances, opt for one with a VITON gasket.
  • All solenoid valves need some pressure to actuate. This is especially true of pilot or indirectly operated valves.

Worked for about a dozen times and now is stuck open. I tried using this for an art project with a CO2 tank (well within the pressure rating) and tit got stuck open.

Most solenoid valves will not operate properly (gets stuck) if the differential pressure is over 150psi. My system operates up to 200psi D/P and this valve works perfectly. Solid construction too.

I use this as a “trigger release” with a momentary button using co2. I’m sure it’s capable of handling pressures above its rated 60bar because my setup doesn’t have a regulator. Meaning all the pressure from the co2 cartridge is released about two inches before being stopped at the solenoid. Press the button and it opens and closes nice and quick with 12v of power and minimal amperage. No leaking whatsoever. The first one did stop working, but was replaced and working great since!
