Wired connectivity is good. Good value for price. Sound quality is there. Easy to use. Durable and functional overall.

I'm using this on my mac to save the headphone port for speakers. It's pretty good but I will say that I think the sound is just slightly, slightly crisper when plugging my headphones directly into the headphone port compared to using this adapter and going into the USB hub. Now that could be the USB hub's doing and not the adapter! But overall, I would say this is pretty comparable. And it's very handy.

UPDATE: After this was in use for about an hour, this adaptor started doing weird things, like sending play/pause commands to the PC while the audio cut in and out. I know that sounds strange, but I tried it on 3 different PC's, Windows 10 nd 1 Windows 11, and all experienced the same issue. I'm changing my rating to 1 star.-- original --This USB to Aux External Sound Card is a fantastic budget-friendly solution for those needing a simple yet effective audio interface. Years ago, high-quality sound cards cost a fortune, but this compact adapter delivers impressive sound quality for just a few dollars. It’s truly plug and play, requiring no drivers or setup. The adapter features a USB connector on one end and a 3.5mm TRS female jack on the other, making it easy to connect headphones or external speakers. The PC recognizes it as "AB13X USB audio speaker". It provides full audio settings including sound enhancements, as shown in the screen-capture image. Despite being marketed primarily for 'headphones for gaming consoles and laptops', it works exceptionally well when connected to an external sound system. The only reason for a 4-star rating instead of 5 is that a slightly longer cable would have made it even more versatile. However, at this price point, it’s an excellent value. Highly recommended for anyone needing an easy and effective USB-to-aux solution!

A simple way to get another output sound jack on your computer. Just plug this device into an unused USB-A port on your computer or computer hub and you have another way to produce sound out of your computer. I have my iMac's headphone jack dedicated to my Harman Kardon SoundSticks II that I bought about 15 years ago. But, if I was doing some audio stuff with my iMac, I was getting strong vibes from my better half to plug in headphones. Not an easy task. I tried various switches and splitters, but nothing was working right. Then I found this device that allows me to hook up another sound output using a USB-A port. Now I can have my speaker system still plugged in, and also my headphones, and just change the output on my menu bar selection. Pretty easy. This device does not seem to hamper the sound quality going to my headphones, so I get a clear sound with no hum or distortion.

This is a nice-looking red adapter, but unfortunately it did not work. At least not for the application that I tried to use it for.I have old computer speakers that use an aux cable. However, my new PC does not have an aux or old speaker port output so I plugged this adapter into the USB port and plugged the speaker cable into the other side of this adapter. The product description clearly states that this adapter has a DAC smart chip. DAC is a digital to analog converter. That means this DAC chip acts as an external sound card. That should allow you to plug your speakers directly into this adapter and they should work perfectly. But they didn't.Sound came through the speakers, but all I got was a mess of crackling, popping, and buzzing.I tried other ways to make this work such as using different USB ports to rule out a bad port and testing the speakers on another computer to make sure they worked. Of course they did.Everything else was tested to narrow down the problem to this adapter.Maybe I did something wrong but this adapter did not work for the purposes intended.

The sound is clear and music sounds good to me. Good highs, overall clarity and bass. It doesn't get super loud though. Probably best used for low-mid power headphones and earbuds you want to convert to USB. In this form factor you aren't going to find anything more powerful. This things is tiny and I'm surprised it works as well as it does. Tested on Linux Mint 22.1 (Kernel 6.12.3).
