It fit my Western field 550 (Mossberg) perfectly. Did not need to modify the stock forearm or shell holder at all. Installation was a piece of cake.

Since the Mossberg Mav 88 doesn’t come drilled & tapped on the receiver, this is a perfect solution for mounting optics. This accessory is quality, well-machined and fits perfectly on my Maverick 88 shotgun, and is at a very reasonable price. Just be sure to use thread-locker, such as Loctite blue, and let it cure (harden) for at least 24 hours before going shooting. This way it won’t come loose from the recoil. Definitely recommend!

I liked the finish on this, kind of like a fresh anodized AR lower. Etched matte finish rather than the cheap shiny finish. I don't consider UTG as mid-tier, but this sidesaddle feels very mid-tier and high quality. UTG has been making more quality products lately. If you need a sidesaddle and picatinny mount for a mossberg mav88, I would get this one over anything else offered on amazon. It's rock solid.

This is a fantastic way to mount a scope or red dot to a shotgun. Is very secure so you won't have to worry about zero shift and if your optic goes down you can look through a small channel in the bottom of the mount in order to use your bead or sights. Only complaint I have is the shell holder doesn't hold the shells as secure as I would like.
