The smaller diameter version of this tube was unusable due to the Tesla coil it was intended to house/insulate wouldn't fit. Only 1mm smaller than the listing specified, but unusable, nonetheless. This one is also 1mm smaller than the listing, but I ordered it because the listing says it's 3mm larger than I need, so it worked out to have a 1mm gap all around the coil. Close enough for rock&roll..Not to mention, the thickness is better suited as an insulator for the intended application.

I couldn't get a replacement glass tube for the porch light so I will try this. It cuts with a reverse blade in the circle saw. I will sandblast the inside to frost it to match.
