I encountered significant difficulties using these M3x4mmx4mm inserts for my 3D printing projects. The inserts repeatedly lost their grip on the plastic, causing them to spin and consequently enlarge the hole, rendering the print unusable and forcing me to reprint. It's unclear whether the issue lies in the design or the diameter of the insert, but the outer threads simply didn't secure properly. This resulted in a lot of stress and wasted filament. To resolve this, I ordered a different set of Uxcell insert nuts, which featured crossed outer threads instead of straight ones. These worked perfectly on the first try. If you're considering purchasing this particular style and size, I urge caution due to the inconsistencies I experienced. Instead, I recommend trying a slightly different style from the same company and seller, which can be found [here](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MCW7ZN5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1). It might save you the frustration and material waste I went through.

These worked great for adding case feet on the bottom of my 3D printed PCB enclosure. M3 motherboard screws fit perfectly into the small rubber feet. The heat inserts are easy to use with any soldering iron. You don't need a special heat insert tip, any soldering iron will do. There is a thin and fat side to each insert. I put the thick side down so there's less chance of back-filling. I actually insert them with a screw already in it, threaded level with the bottom, to help prevent back-filling into the threads as well. Heat pressing them with the screw already inside using the tip of the soldering iron is a balancing act for sure but I've found this method to work best with no failures of back-filled threads.

I used these in 3/4 MDF and they worked great. No splitting of the wood. Used Gorilla super glue gel to bond them in since they will experience a lot of torque. Very satisfied with the results. 5 stars!
