I extensively explained this problem to the vendor, but they won't or can't fix it!If you have a 2024 Hyundai Kona EV, don't buy this! You won't be able to detach or remove this adapter from your Kona, and you won't be able to drive your Kona while this adapter is stuck in your car!Don't get stuck. Don't buy this!Too bad because I really liked the built-in power strip. There's obviously an incompatible communication problem between the Kona and this V2L adapter that stops the adapter from being released, even after the doors are unlocked. If you have this adapter, and it's stuck, change the Kona's V2L Settings (in EV category) to stop outputting V2L power at 80%, drain the car's battery below 80%, unlock the doors, and press the button on the V2L adapter to finally release and allow the adapter to be unplugged from the car! Now, you'll be able to drive your car. Total PITA!To drain the battery quickly, plug a high wattage device, like a vacuum cleaner, into this adapter's power strip. Whatever you plug in, be sure to closely monitor it because it may need to run for a couple of hours to drain the battery from 100% to 80%, assuming the vacuum uses 1.2kWh.

Very well made with a long cord. Now my house can power a couple items when the power goes off

Although the listing for this V2L adpater advertises Kia Niro EV compatible, the Niro WIND trim does not allow the V2L function to work. Mine is a Wind, I know firsthand. The lack of V2L for the Wind trim is on the KIA web site even though I couldn't find it in the owner's manual. Too bad, it looked like a great product. I appreciate the seller's quick response to my refund request and the ease of dropping it off at a UPS store to ship it back without cost. This deficiency is Kia's fault as they DO program the car's software for V2L to work on the WAVE model.

Just got this for my Kia EV9 Wind. Can't say a lot yet except to confirm that it works. This doesn't have a power on/off button like Kia's OEM adapter, but just plug it in and the car's V2L mode activates automatically. I tested it with an electric kettle. Will need to give it a real world test but it seems to be as advertised. IP67 on the plug is fully waterproof but an IP57 rating on the power strip basically means keep it out of the rain. Fair enough.

I've gotten several of these units to test them out, so far they all stand up to the outdoor elements, and charges with no issues. I will report back if anything changes but so far so good. Checking the retail market on the pricing Amazon has the best pricing by far on these units. If anything changes i will let you know.

I've had my EV (Hyundai Ioniq 5) for about 8 months now. Back when it was new, this kind of adapter was SUPER expensive (~$250+), they were hard to come by, even the simple V2L adapters with no cable on them. But I didn't *need* it then, and so I waited. Fast forward to August 2023, and this can be had for $140, and is much nicer than a simple V2L because it comes with an attached power strip, plus USB-A and USB-C charge ports built in so you don't need to use an outlet on those either, because you never need just ONE power outlet, do you?In testing, this just works. Plug in to car, plug devices in to power strip, devices get lovely clean 110v power.
