Bear saws are the best. They stay sharp for a long time and make getting the job done a lot easier. I've been using them for 25 years without any problems except locating replacement blades, Delighted to find them on Amazon with free shipping available.

I just love these saw blades! I have replaced them several times. Based upon how many times and how badly I have been cut by them, they are extremely sharp! ๐๐คฃ๐๐๐คฃ๐ Be careful! But seriously, they cut cross grain very well in one side and rip just as well on the other. I even cut a 10โ cherry log once. It took a while, but it was straight and clean!

My Bear saw still cuts pretty well but wanted to be ready for its replacement as much as I use it. Iโm much more accurate pulling its blades through wood than pushing. Faster at cutting compound miters on a 4x8โthan setting up a chopsaw. Razor sharp fine cut with almost no waste.

I love the vaughn back saws...they are my best pruning saws but they have been discontinued I think. Hard to find. Not a saw out there that worked better and I have bought many over the years to keep all over the property. They don't last forever and the plastic handle gives, but I have rough hawthorn trees that a bow saw which does work well can not get into.

As a Carpenter I have used my original Japanese saw so much it wore out. And I was extremely happy to find that there are replacement blades.

I bought one of these saws in a tool shop about 12 years ago. This is the first chance I've had to buy a new blade. It's been an excellent buy.

I purchase this saw based on my previous experience using Vaughan Bear Saw BS240P, a smaller, extra fine blade saw I had for a long time (also made in Japan, and it's on third replacement blade now). I was using it to prune a big branch and bent it a little bit - the teeth on the blade were too fine for that. Also, I could not find a replacement blade on Amazon. Instead, I purchased this one, BS333C, a bigger saw (12 inch in length, although it says 13 inch blade length which is 333mm, hence the name) with more coarse teeth (according to the package, "impulse hardened, tri-edged teeth, stay sharp longer'). The blade fits the handle from the previous saw, which I am familiar and easy to grip. As expected for brand new blade, it cuts easily and quickly. I hope to take care of this saw better than my previous ones.

I have bought this saw when it was sold at Lowes with really thinking. Now itโs my primary joinery saw for 10 years, this is my fifth replacement ryoba blade. It rivals Japanese brands easily, the only difference is the rubberized vs wooden handle. The blade itself is sharp, thin, flexible but sturdy enough. You can break a tooth off though so treat it with care. It has the right amount of set and itโs not impulse hardened. Which is a feature because you can touch it up with a feather file. But even as it is it stays sharp for a long time. Works equally well in soft and domestic hard woods (just make sure you know what are you doing).

I ran into a screw with the first blade and it took the teeth right off the blade. This is a factory replacement and the saw is back to working properly. It cuts on the pull stroke like Japanese saws, but I find the kerf and set a little too aggressive for fine work so I use this for rough cutting, and then, if necessary, do refining cuts with a fine tooth Dozuki or use the crosscut table at the table saw. Also the thin blade will bend so cuts need to be done slowly (as they should be done).

Sharp and accurate. I love the two sides; rip and fine.

Good saw for tree work, nice and easy does the job, cuts on the pull stroke unlike most western saws.Donโt think this blade has quite the saw tooth arrangement as my last one but it sure cuts wood !
