This is a very slick looking desktop mic, with super-cool RGB capability. It was delivered fast, and packaged well. Setup was cake, just plug in the USB and away you go. Sound quality is much better than my high end headset that I use for zoom. I also appreciate the included pop filter (but haven't tried it). Looks really nice on my desk even when not in use.5-stars - recommended!

Not the best quality but it'll serve until you get something better. I tried it in voicechat with friends and they all said it sounded like I was underwater or speaking into a wind tunnel. While the mic works right off the bat when plugged in, it needs some help, and you'll need to do some touch ups with software. What I do like though is that it comes with a stand, has RGB and its own pop filter. These are all thoughtful inclusions and I love that they're included here. Some other stuff include a quick mute and a gain control that also help it on its way. Still, I have a $30-$40 headset that comes with a great quality mic right off, so it's a little disappointing that I need to do perk up this one with software.Overall, it's fine for a beginner, still, I find myself wanting more.

I got this for my son as he is constantly creating gaming videos and also playing games. I am not an expert on this but he did say that it is working great for him. It was quick to setup -- just plug in and it was already good to go. He said the noise quality is decent, cancellation works good as well and works for what he is doing which is more just having fun.

Used it for a full day of Webex (zoom type) calls, and everybody could hear me well, and said it sounded good. I like the lights and the pop filter that are built in.

So far this microphone is very reasonable for the price. Plugging it into my mac via an adapter it automatically connected and worked seamlessly with my Ableton LIVE. The RGB is a cute touch and is pretty vibrant without being blinding. But I did find I was constantly bumping the light button while adjusting the microphone. I would say this isn’t much of a shock mount that comes with this microphone due to the hard pressure the mount puts on the microphone vs. a professional dynamic microphone that would sit in a rubber-banded mount. Volume control worked well and I appreciate the small form factor of the overall feel of this mic with the included pop filter that adds that extra little bonus for the mic.I tried singing into the mic and found the audio usable with a tiny bit of hollow. Small adjustments in my software quickly smoothed out that sound and I found it very reasonable for the price. This microphone gets a 5/5 amazon rating from me and an 8/10 Tim rating.

So I got this to replace a dynamic mic that I had that was big and bulky. This picks up decently as long as you are about 7 to 9 inches away. It does have good pick up and allows for some modification within decent software based on what you may have installed. As for Plug-in play It works great if you’re just starting off. I don’t see this being in the mic for singing. Overall its a great starter mic

Feels like its made of good material and not cheap for the price it is at. Was able to plug in right away and had no problems talking on discord. The RBG colors are nice but happy you can turn them off, the only thing I wish it did differently and this is just me is the power wire would be in the big and not the bottom of the microphone to hide the wire better.

The VCOM USB PC Mic looks good but is made from light quality plastic and feels a bit cheap. Luckily it works quite a bit better than it looks. The mic and stand are separate but the mic does not actually come out of the stand. The controls are simple, there is a gain dial, a capacitive button on the front that controls LED colour, and a capacitive button on the top that can mute and unmute the mic while in use. The mic can be angled up or down and tightened with the thumbscrew, but it cannot be raised or lowered. The mic also comes with a windscreen/pop filter.I run a linux desktop and the mic was auto-detected and usable without any manual intervention. I did some testing in my work voice chat program and it worked perfectly and provided a clear recording of my voice. Because this is a desktop mic it needs to sit on your desk behind the keyboard which means that it will also pick up keyboard sounds and vibrations through the desk itself. The LED looks nice and has a few choices of colour, or you can turn it off completely. The mic that I received was not completely put together, the top panel of the mic was not attached. I was able to pop it into place, and there was no impact on functionality after I re-attached the part. This is a very basic mic and would be suitable for beginners, the sound quality is good and it's really easy to use.

Plug and play microphone with good sound quality, decent noise cancellation without clipping your voice, and it looks great on the desk to boot!

These USB microphones are good enough for about 99% of people but if you really want to step up your game, you'll most likely consider either a dynamic microphone or a better one that uses an XLR cable with it's own dedicated mixing box or with just a simple phantom power supply. It has nice lighting and a detachable pop filter which most of these have at this point.Overall I'd say this is a great pick for anyone that might consider starting streaming, making vids or just to chat with friends while gaming.

Pros:- Decent build quality with metallic mic grille- High-density pad for stability- Good gain and deep audio- Responsive mute and RGB touch buttons- Effective pop filter- Consistent output volume at different distances- Great for streaming or recordingCons:- Plastic construction- Short stand- Easily touched RGB buttonThe VCOM HJM902-Black USB Dynamic Microphone has a decent build quality even though it is made of plastic. The base has a high-density pad which gives the mic decent stability. The stand is a little short for the mouth to come close to the microphone, but my tests show that this is not a problem at all due to the mic’s sensitivity and superb signal processing. The manual suggests speaking to the mic from 15-30cm, which is a little far and unusual. The mic’s cylindrical surface is metal, and I assume there is a dynamic microphone inside and not a condenser microphone. The microphone appears to have good gain and registers 100% in Windows 11’s mic test when speaking to it from 3 inches. This is good. The audio is good and deep. The mute and RGB touch buttons are responsive, which I like. However, the location of the RGB button might not be the best choice because I find myself accidentally touching it when I move the mic around. The RGB lights can be disabled by holding the RGB touch button. The pop filter is working well and keeps the audio clear without distraction. In real-life audio tests, there is something amazing about this microphone. Dialled to maximum volume on the back of the mic, the output volume is very similar when I speak to it at 3, 6, and 12 inches. This tells me the AGC (automatic gain control) of the mic works really well. Many other mics I have tested would make a big difference in output volume for such a large change in speaking distance. However, in this setting, my voice would be distorted when speaking within 2 inches from the pop-filter. This is acceptable because I can dial down the mic volume at the back of the mic to about half, and the mic will be distortion-free when speaking to it from 1-2 inches. This half-volume setting also reduces background noise. At maximum output volume, the mic produces a deep voice from 3-10 inches away. This is great. Many mics I have tested would lose the depth when speaking from 6 inches away!Overall, the mic under review stands out from others in producing a deep voice even when speaking to it from 6-10 inches. It is an awesome microphone to use for streaming or recording. I am really happy about it.Update 20250216The microphone does not work reliably with Zoom Meetings. Some tweaking of the volume knob is required to make it work. Sometimes it doesn't work for those who do not speak loudly. I have taken off one star.
