IMPORTANT NOTE

  • This drive only works with 3-phase asynchronous motors. Please make sure your motor is a 3-phase asynchronous motor before purchasing. To protect the VFD, be sure to press the red button "Stop" and turn off the power when you stop using it.When the VFD is working, the inside of the heat sink may reach about 176℉ (80℃), please pay attention to the protection measures!
  • The motor ( or other loads ) and the VFD can only be connected by wire without anything between (eg. No switch can be installed between them).If you want to use the switch to control the load, please refer to the following method to connect the terminals. The two ends of the switch are connected to FWD and GND, turn on the switch, the motor is turning positive, turn off the switch, the motor stops working.The two ends of the switch are connected to REV and GND, turn on the switch, the motor reverses, turn off the switch the motor stops working.Select the function you want to achieve to connect the switch.

Simple operating guide(motor)

Connecting load devices (eg.motor)

  • Connect the 110V power supply to L and N respectively
  • The three wires of the motor are connected to U,V,W, Motor junction box needs to be changed to Δ wiring method (You can see the motor nameplate is generally marked Δ for three-phase 220v, Y for three-phase 380v, if you do not understand the motor nameplate to take photos to us).

Set The Initial Test Parameters:

  • pn32=6, pn02=rated frequency of the motor, pn03=2, pn04=1;pn10=rated frequency of the motor;pn12=rated frequency of the motor
  • After setting as above, press the RUN button to start and STOP button to stop, FWD/REV button to switch forward and reverse, and the panel up / down buttons to adjust the speed.

It seemed to be awesome until I used it for a few hours. Then it started smoking. I was in the middle of a job and it started acting up giving an error of LU-u which indicates a low input voltage. That was not the case, the voltage checked out fine even under the acceleration load. The manual suggested that I increase the acceleration time, so I bumped it up quite a bit. It still gave the error so I tried a crazy long acceleration time. Then the smoke came out, at that point I gave up. The drive always seemed under powered and now I know why it was so inexpensive. I would stay away from this unit as it seems to not be capable of lasting mor than just a few uses. I will be looking for a more capable unit as the money that I saved can't begin to make up for my wasted time.

I use it to power my cnc spindle. I'm new to vfd and have made many mistakes with this and it continues to work regardless of the abuse I put it thru. Also has excellent power. I mill very thick aluminum and plastic with it.

With a wiring change, I am able to turn a cheap harbor freight drill press into a continuously variable speed drill press. Just be careful about the heating of the motor coil, since all VFD will stress out the motor coil. I ended up installing a separate cooling fan on the bottom of the motor. This fan is a spare CPU cooling fan that runs on 12v, which is hooked up to the 12v output of this VFD unit. It is so convenient.

I use this to power my grizzly lathe. Very easy to program and run. Terminals are a bit small for my liking, but they will do. Don’t know yet how durable it is time will tell.

The connections for the input and output are stiff but that is a good thing. I have another vfd that connections would just pop out so this is a nice change of pace. A manual would have been nice even if it was just a link to a pdf I can download but it's running a 1.5hp 3p motor for a lathe and no issues yet. I have a small 120v induction motor fan I may install for additional cooling. If I change anything I'll update the review otherwise it was unnecessary.
