It doesn't seem like it would stop a determined thief, but then no lock will really do that. I bought this in 2023 and use it pretty regularly during riding season (March - Nov) and my bike hasn't been stolen, so I guess there's that. I like the fact I can carry this on the downtube of my bike. The fact it's so easy to carry with and use it on a regular basis are, perhaps, the two greatest selling points toward stopping casual thieves.

I used to have a "Kryptonite" bike lock when I was in college and this one feels very much as sturdy as those old steel locks were. My use case for this is jus to lock up my bike as a deterrent for short stops at our neighboard bew pub or a short trip to the story. I have no pretense that with cutting tools, thieves could probably get past it in fairly short order but that's really probably all locks on the market today. As a deterent and to get them to not go to the hassle of going after your bike, I think this is a good option and I would recommend.

This via velo bike lock is rated "sold secure diamond" which is the highest rating one can get when looking for bike locks. It's really sturdy, but doesn't weigh a ton. The u lock is long enough for my ebike, and it comes with 4 keys. The u profile is padded with rubber to protect the bike's paintjob. I'm sure there are people out there who with enough dedication - can cut this lock, nothing is indestructible. This lock is fairly priced and I'd be happy to buy 2 to secure my bike completely. At the end of the day all one needs to do is to make their bike seem harder to steal than the next one on the rack. For that, this lock is perfect.

Tbhis is a very strong and secure U lock for a bicycle. The material is very thick and it is advertised to be made of some material that resists cutting. I'm not learned when it comes to these subjects but based on the price and weight I'm confident that it will live up to it's claims.The lock is longer than my old lock which helps when securing the bike to the object.It makes bold claims when it comes to security which leads me to believe that the average thief won't bother to try to break into this lock and instead will choose another victim. It looks like you can't have too much security.Price seems a little high. IF it is as secure as they say then it's probably worth it.
