When i first bought my projector the bulb that came in the projector lasted 4 years. After it went out i bought one of these and after that one went out i bought another. The second bulb lasted 6 months and the 3rd? less than 30 days. these bulbs are engineered to break just outside of amazon return warranty and viewsonic knows it. just like all the real reviews say these bulbs may be easy to replace but thats because you will be doing it every 2-3 months for viewsonics benefit. buy from a 3rd party or another brand.

Mine just exploded in my projector a few minutes ago. Swapped it out last February. The price has gone down, and I'm not ready to invest in a new projector, so I might risk another bulb.

I bought the allegedly OEM unit because I was tired of cheap third-party lamps failing early. I guess the joke's on me, because this one was even worse! With just 112 lamp hours, the projector went dark and would not light up again. For comparison, I think the original lamp held up for nearly 4,000 hours, and the third-party ones have averaged around 1,500 hours. The lamp and housing don't look exactly like the ones that came with my projector, so I'm not sure if I got a real ViewSonic lamp. I guess it's back to the cheap bulbs for me!

The original lamp that came with my projector lasted 2 years. When it started to fail, it became dimmer until it burned out. This bulb was purchased at the end of April 2020 and only lasted 3 months (7/31/2020). It blew up inside my projector sending shards of glass throughout the inside of my projector. I purchased a new bulb and when it arrives, I'll try it out in the projector and hope that the shards of glass didn't scratch the lens and cause me to purchase an entirely new projector. I'm very disappointed in the quality of this bulb.

Do NOT PURCHASE THIS BULB.Other reviews stated exactly what I experienced. Bulb that came with the projector lasted a solid 2.5 years. Purchased this bulb with the hopes it would last at least a year. Lasted 3 months. It didn’t explode in my projector like other reviews, but at some point while we’re watching something, the bulb just goes out. Sound is still going on the sound bar, but no video. Dunzo. The projector then shows a red light to indicate that the bulb is burnt out, just like when my first one burnt out.It was easy to install, but looks like I’m going to have to drop another $100 or so to install another one. This bulb is absolute garbage, do not waste your money. Buy a higher quality bulb.Seems like they’re set up to burn out just outside of the Amazon return window too.. quite suspicious.
