So noble! This chalice delivers on aesthetic and touch. It has a great feel to it, and it fits the hand well. The embossing is fairly deep, and it comes in at 377g/13.3oz, comparable to a standard ceramic coffee mug, and much lighter than a typical diner mug (see photo for size comparison). It overflows after filled with 1 cup of your favorite beverage, so you can stylishly enjoy gluttony, or slowly slake your thirst. While the inside is buffed to a high polish, the outside is antiqued with a black wash and a coating of lacquer. The lacquer is thick (maybe just too thick) and it slightly darkens/tints the brass. I'm not overly fond of the lacquer, but it serves an important purpose and with use it will certainly smooth to a wondrous luster and will age well. It's a fantastic splurge for any enthusiast of Medieval times!

Everyone generally knows the same water from a paper cup tastes differently from water served in a glass. Ever since I received my brass chalice, drinking water has never been the same. Having a drink of cold water is no longer a mundane activity but a 'moment'.When a guest asks for a glass of water and place this chalice before them, the expression on their face is worth the purchase price. Quality Matters!
