Ho cambiato un precedente nastro che dopo qualche anno aveva ceduto in corrispondenza dei raggi e aveva causato una foratura. Ha funzionato

Great tape, easy to install, which makes me actually want to replace rim tape as a preventative measure, rather than just when it is required.

If you have a Vittoria wheelset with asymmetrical lacing, you DEFINITELY need these rim tapes. The reason you need these rim tapes as opposed to other rim tapes is that they are wider and cover ALL the spoke holes, which on asymmetrical rims are very close to the rim sides. I purchased a Vittoria Elusion Nero wheelset from the LBS last year and put Schwalbe Lugano tires on the wheels, and happily road them for a year with no rim tape, unaware that I needed them because I didn't read the manual (which clearly states that you DO need to add rim tape if you're using clincher tires, and recommends THIS rim tape). Then I purchased a set of Vittora Dimente Pro tires to replace the Schwalbes because I wanted an upgrade. That's when the problems started. Tube after tube, I would put the tubes and tires on, inflate them to pressure, and the tubes would blow shortly after (on the rear asymmetrical wheel only). The tubes would blow through the spoke holes. I even finally got one tube on and inflated, and rode about 200 miles, and after the last ride, I was sitting there taking off my shoes, and heard the tube blow... after my ride, with the bike sitting there. I was confused because the wheelset did come with tape on the inside - it was a permanent flexible rim tape that kinda looked like electrical tape. But that tape was very elastic and there were deep indentations in the tape where every spoke hole was. I think the problem was that the Vittoria Dimente Pro tires were less elastic than the Schwalbes, so the tube was taking relief anywhere it could, which was through the spoke holes, and that thin elastic tape was not enough to prevent the tubes from blowing. I even tried installing rim tapes from my old wheelset. But they were not wide enough and did not cover the spoke holes for the drive side, which are very close to the rim sides. I ordered and installed these rim tapes as the manual suggested and had no more problems at all. I'm a little disappointed that these $11 rim tapes did not come with a $850 wheelset... But whatevs. Suffice it to say that you definitely need these rim tapes if you have a Vittoria wheelset with asymmetrical lacing and will be installing clincher tires.EDIT: 2017-05-29 My original review was 5 stars. However, after about 400 more miles, the tape started shifting around in the rim, and also folding and/or bunching on itself. Once this happens, it's almost impossible to correct, and requires a replacement. I started having the same spoke hole flats that prompted me to get this tape in the first place. I believe the problem is that this rim tape is not wide enough for Vittoria Elusion Nero wheels. It's 18mm and for this wheelset it should probably be around 20mm. I removed the factory-installed adhesive rim tape I mentioned in the original review above (I believe it's for tubeless applications) and measured it and it's exactly 20mm, but I don't think that would even be wide enough. See the attached photo. It looks like I could simply move the rim tape over the exposed holes, but it doesn't stay in place once it's taken the shape of the inside of the rim. I'm thinking that an adhesive rim tape is needed with the asymmetrical lacing on the back wheel. Although the instructions that come with the Vittoria Elusion Nero wheelset say not to use cloth tape such as Velox, I am thinking that this might be the way to go. The front wheel has been fine as it's symmetrically laced and the spoke holes are in the center of the rim for the most part. But the back wheel has continued to give me spoke hole flats. Again, I bought this tape on the recommendation in the manual for the Elusion Nero wheelset which said to buy Vittoria rim tape.I'm keeping 3 stars because it's worked fine on the front wheel as I mentioned, and would no doubt work on most symmetrically-laced rims. But not on Vittoria's own Elusion Nero rear wheel rims.
