This kit consists of thick pressboard sheets containing individual pieces that must be punched out. You must punch them out as you get to that step, and not all at once. They have numbers that correlate to the instructions. It's almost all punch out pieces, with several stickers to make books, scrolls, and such. Aside from the book stickers, all of the coloring is already painted on the pieces, well centered and in vibrant hues. Most of the book nook brands have pressboard that has a chemically treated smell, but this one is extra strong. Letting the sheets air out on their own, unstacked, can help. Also included are a nice assortment of tools that aid with the assembly, and the lighting unit, which takes 2 AAA batteries (not included). The instruction manual has 26 pages containing 80 steps total to complete the kit. It's in full color, but the graphics aren't as realistic as other kits. They look kind of cartoonish in style and the coloring is a bit off, but they're still easy to understand. It's just easier to have realistic images with the directions. Overall, this is a well made kit with a unique theme that I recommend, especially for travelers.

I enjoyed putting this book nook together. It's slightly bigger than regular book nooks but I thought it was nic because you can see details better.

This was a cool little puzzle kit to set on your bookshelf after completion, and it comes with lights and everything to light it.

I love the idea of this set. World landmarks, great! But in practice, the pieces are made of very hard wood and it hurts to press them together, and the books are small and fiddly to put stickers on. I’d say go for another set instead of this one.

3.5 stars, but a low 3.5. More close to average/alright.It looks nice, and looks realistic. But to be fair, book nooks are mostly about the journey.Majority of the pieces were sturdy, but there were flimsy pieces. Several pieces actually ended up breaking while putting it together (statue of liberty, a plant, portions of the stairs). The circuit board when removed from the packaging also broke. However in the kit there are instructions on reaching out to the producer if there were issues. I reached out to them about the circuit board, they replied a day later, then a few days pass and a box was on the doorstep. We thought they would be mailing just a new set of circuit boards but they actually just sent another kit. Because of that we were also able to replace the flimsy pieces i mentioned earlier that broke. My (13 yr old) nephew found the kit challenging but still had fun. Some things he wanted to mention was how there were pieces not the best at snapping in because they were constantly popping out, the kit needs more glue, and following the instructions was a 7.5/10. As the adult, i'm glad he had hours of fun for a reasonable price.

I created new swear words trying to assemble the stairs. The acrylic parts broke very easily but glued back together nicely. The connections were extremely tight...extremely! Glad I stuck with it. A nice bonus to this kit was you can light it with either batteries or a USB cord (not included)It's worth the effort when it's all done.

The cutouts are quality material and I would've liked to have given a 4+ in stars, but the front frame of the nook is misaligned and the printing is partially cut off. However, I would purchase the product again compared to some other nooks I have assembled.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: VORATHIS Book Nook Kit - DIY Miniature World Library Booknook - 3D Wooden Puzzle with LED Lights - Creative Bookshelf Insert & Educational Gift for AdultsWHAT I LIKE: * Beautiful printing on paper and wood pieces. * Copious details everywhere! This is one of the most detailed kits I've worked on. * In addition to the "10 Iconic Landmarks", there's 7 wonders of the ancient world as well. * B-7000 glue - finally kit makers realize how well this stuff works! * Final assembly is stunning 💗 * The acrylic sheets were twice as thick as most making them much easier to work with. * Makes a nice night light.WHAT WOULD'VE MADE THIS BETTER: * This is a beautiful book nook but there's a bit too much crammed in it. I like details but this one squeezes things in and everything is too small and it doesn't look 3D enough. Things are so small that they couldn't be given enough depth. * The included tweezers are crap. WHY do expensive diorama kits always come with crappy useless tweezers??? They just end up in a landfill. Crappy tweezers are not good for anything at all. If kit makers can't include good tweezers then they should just leave them out and we'll use our own. * Several of the figures, especially the 2 at the bottom of the staircase, should've been 3D pieces, like maybe little resin figures instead of flat 2D pieces. Having some 3D pieces in a booknook makes it more fun and nicer to look at. * This is the 2nd kit I've gotten with a little hammer. If I have to hammer pieces in then they're not cut correctly. Also, it's easy to hammer too hard and break things. * The wood is a bit too thick. While solid quality wood is great and it's what we want, it shouldn't be so thick as to make everything look chunky. * Thinner but still high quality wood with more precise cutting. Pieces should fit snugly together without the use of a hammer. There were a lot of places where I needed to do extra sanding to get pieces to fit or apply glue to get them to stay.TIPS: * For a more realistic book nook, file the nubs off pieces as you remove them. Then color with paint pens them to match the piece. * If a 2D piece looks too flat, file the edges round and then color them to match with paint pens. * Do not use the B-7000 with paper - it is not paper safe. * Having a kit to work on book nooks is helpful for these projects. My kit includes: exacto knife, precision tweezers set, mini ruler with straight edge, sandpaper blocks and nail files, sharp bladed paper scissors, embroidery scissors, strong jaw nippers, needle nose pliers, acrylic paint pens, B-7000 glue, white glue (for paper stuff). * Save leftover parts from kit. Many times small parts are the same and sometimes a leftover from one kit will come in handy in a different one.OVERALL: While the individual elements are too small and this kit required some customization to make it look as nice as I wanted, the end result is a beautiful tribute to some of the world's fascinating sites.
