Description makes it look like you can insert the product bottle and it will shake it up on its own. Unless I just don't know how-to use it, you must hold the product down onto it while it shakes. It does work and it works well. Good quality and value...especially if you do your nails often or have products that need shaken. Not necessary but convenient.

I admit it—I saw this on social media (nail art accounts) and totally fell for it. But honestly? It’s super useful, unique, and kind of fun!✔ Surprisingly heavy & solid build—stays put while mixing.✔ Super easy to use—just press the bottle down & hold, moving it around slightly until mixed.✔ Includes 100 stainless steel mixing balls—great for helping thicker liquids mix faster.✔ Vibrates a bit up your arm—I noticed it, but it wasn’t uncomfortable for me (then again, I’ve used garage tools with way worse reverberation—so maybe I’m jaded 😂).➞ That said, it's not ideal for mixing a ton of bottles in a row—if you have a huge backlog of dried-up polish, be prepared for a bit of hand fatigue.I tested it with a badly separated but still thin polish, and it looked perfectly blended in seconds. If your polish is more solid than liquid, add a few drops of SecheRest0re and a couple mixing beads first. For other paints or products, same applies, just use whatever product thinner is recommended if necessary.TLDR: For laqueristas and/or anyone who loves their polishes (or mini paints), this is a fun useful tool. 🎨💅✨

This is a good value for a good quality, very powerful, medium sized vortex style paint and nail polish mixer. If you’ve never used one there is a learning curve to it as I’ll explain below. It may not be something everyone will be comfortable using. However, if you’ve never used one there is one caution. If you have any issues with sensitivity, pain or other issues with your hands, fingers, wrists (for me it was worst in the wrist) or lower arm (I felt it up to the elbow but not in the elbow, but I did get referred shoulder pain on that side after use), this may not be something you’ll enjoy or be comfortable using. If you’ve ever used something with a powerful vibration such as a strong vibrational sander or grinder for a long time, you’ll understand how it can affect your hand. It will leave a vibration or tingling, or for some painful sensation in your hand, fingers, wrist or arm. This was intense, and far more intense than any sander or grinder or device I’ve ever used. It was surprised by how intense it was and that it did leave my hand and wrist tingling and my wrist sore.I did have pain in my wrist (that normally doesn’t hurt or have a known issue) and in my arm and a little in my shoulder (referred upward) after use on just one nail polish bottle. To be fair, it was a really stubborn, badly separated thick glitter. When I tested it again later on a lightly separated (at the top) cream nail polish, it was better. It for me depended on how long I needed to use it and hold the bottle. I do not have regular pain in my hands and wrists, so this was directly from and after use. I would only mix up one bottle when I need it, as I need it due to this.Note that for some polishes and top coats you may want to use before mixing in the device an appropriate nail polish thinner in the bottle. For some you’ll want one with toluene such as Seche Vite thinner (required for Seche Vite and older polishes), some a general use one is fine without toluene (Beauty Secrets is a good brand for that style). Never add nail polish remover or acetone to a bottle, only appropriate thinner. However, with some, if not many polishes you may be able to just use the mixer vs add thinner. I did not find that I needed to add thinner in the bottles I mixed. They do include a bag inside a small re-closable case of 100 round mixing spheres. They are the same shape and size as the ones that I could see in my INM Northern Lights top coat bottle. Do be careful if you need more mixing spheres to get one rated paint and nail polish safe that won’t rust, change the color of the formula or polish. My INM Northern Lights top coat bottle had two round mixing spheres in it already. I added 3 more and it made a big difference. I tried one bottle without adding any spheres, then a different bottle (same level of settling) and it made a big difference and it was quicker to mix.If you know how that top coat is (in the silver or the gold holo, both are like this) or how thick glitter formulas have the glitter fall to the base of the bottle, you’ll understand what I mean. INM Northern Lights (holographic) top coat is lovely, but it is very, very difficult to mix and is the most difficult formula of any nail product I’ve ever used or mixed. So I gave this a pretty tough test with that top coat. I have in the past had to take a toothpick and mix it and scrape the base of the bottle. I could mix it with this in about 1 minute. However a cream polish with no glitter or holo, took 15 seconds (mild separation) up to 30 seconds (moderate separation). The learning curve issue is that you must securely hold on to the bottle during mixing. There is no place you put the bottle or lid during mixing. You must hold down on the bottle while pushing downward to activate the device (start it, to stop it lift the bottle off). It’s not that easy to hold on to as strong as this is. I did have to use two hands with some bottles. I found sometimes I wanted to hold the device to secure it and have the other hand on the bottle. If you don’t hold on well the bottle will fly out of your hands from the force. Be sure the bottle lid is on securely before use. This isn’t a paint shaker that shakes or rattles or moves a bottle back in forth in place. It’s also not a spinner that spins. You hold the base of the bottle (try it both flat and tilted on the side a bit, and on the side of the bottle as well) on the top of the vortex mixer during use. It is a very strong vibration that does the mixing vs cause a swirl in the bottle or spin. This is a fairly large device. I’d say it’s about the size of a tomato. It’s 2.75 inches tall by 3.12 inches wide. It must be plugged into a standard electrical outlet during use and it is not rechargeable and has no capacity to use batteries. The plug in is larger in size but the cord is a good long length. There is no on off switch or adjustment, you simply press the bottle to start, lift it to stop it.It can move a bit on the surface during use, not much but a little. Don’t put it on a metal tray or surface or it’s quite noisy. Don’t let any items on your table or vanity touch it or they will rattle as well. It’s not overly loud but it’s not as quiet as I expected, but this is my first vortex mixer. It does have a moderate amount of noise during use. If your surface it’s seated on vibrates or reverberates it may be nosier. The noise rating is 52.2-54.8 db. It has non slip feet but still moves a touch on some surfaces. The speed is 5,000 RPM and the motor is brushless. It’s a sphere with a nice silicone coating, so you can wipe it clean and it will be soft and gentle on your bottles and have less slip during use. It’s rated at a 20,000 hour of use service life. It’s rated as low in energy use. It can mix a max container capacity of 50 ml (1.69 oz) (a large bottle of OPI nail polish is 15ml or 0.50 oz). It says 3 seconds, but I’d say 10-30 seconds, up to 1 minute or more for tougher polishes with glitters or thicker, but 10-30 seconds on average). It can be used to mix: nail polish, glue, adhesive, small paint containers. But the container can’t be over 50 ml (1.69 oz)
