Why won't it fire?

I bought this torch because it was a few dollars cheaper than the others. It's hard to keep lit and when it does stay burning the heat output is minimal. Just like some of the other reviewers mentioned there were a few times when I tried to light it, the flame actually went back up the tube instead of out of the bottom. I tried two different full propane cylinders but, still had the same issues with both. I should have just spent a few more dollars and bought a better one...UPDATE 8-9-2024. the seller has issued a return refund for the defective product. Maybe I just got a bad one but they made it right by me, so I'm not upset with them...

Or come with an extension, for my height it requires bending over so is a bit fatiguing. Does kill weeds if you burn them long enough

This is a nice flame weeder for the cracks in the sidewalk and other small weed areas. It takes a little getting used to if you've never used one before. I first heard about flame weeders listening to You Bet Your Garden. The host also mentioned using it on ice in the winter. I'm looking forward on trying it on the ice so I don't have to worry about the ice melt damaging the cement on the steps.

Worked great for the first 5 minutes. Then it shut off and wouldn’t relight. Tried a new cylinder and still couldn’t get it to light. A few days later I tried again and it would light with a lighter but the flame was going up the tube back towards the valve. It would continue to burn for several seconds after turning it off.Apparently there’s no returning this pos for a new one, all they will do is give you troubleshooting tips.

Easily hooks up to those green 1lb propane tanks. Turn the valve to low to start the gas and a couple clicks of the igniter and ta da your burning weeds. Works well wilting everything the flame touches. Come back every few days to get anything that bounces back or sprouts and after awhile the weeds give up. Fit and finish is functional and no flaws or defects seen.
