I really went round and round in my head about which weight to order. I wanted to end up at 30lbs but wasn't so sure about starting out with that. When the box arrived and I brought it in off my front porch, I really had my doubts that I'd made the right decision.Lifting 30lbs isn't a problem but I wasn't sure I was going to be able to pull off running or jogging with it.Once on and the weight distributed, it was a lot easier to handle. I'll admit that my runs right now are shorter as a result of wearing this but I feel like the time is more productive and I'm planning on working my way back up to full time as my body adjusts to the extra weight.The vest itself feels very well made with a good distribution of weight. It does seem to be heavier on the backside but not by a lot.The stitching all appears to be well done and suited to the task of holding the weight. I like that the reflective strips are not obnoxious or even all that noticeable in daylight but do stand out when hit by light in the darkness.Sizing was not an issue. I'm a large guy and the vest was easy to slip on with straps that are adjustable for far wider than my needs. If you're a heavy person or a really large framed person, this will still likely work for you.Included in the box but not something I noticed in. the product listing was a little holder/case for a phone and some cards and/or keys that can be strapped onto the vest. There's also a mesh pocket on the back but due to placement, it's far less accessible while wearing the vest.Overall, I'm very happy with this. It feels like a quality product that exceeds the expectations I had for it and I expect to get a lot of future use out of it.

I have been rucking for a number of years, and recently I have been adding weight vests to my running workouts. I have been using a plate carrier, but I found that it bounced, and in particular struck me in the breastbone in a way that made it hard to breath. I saw this weighted vest and thought I would give it a shot. I'm glad I did.Sand is used as the weight here, so you won't want to snag the fabric on anything sharp. Also, the weight is not adjustable, so unless you have an appetite for buying a number of these guys, what you buy is what you are stuck with. The weight distribution is pretty comfortable. The majority of the weight is in the back, but there is enough in the front straps (below the shoulders) to give it a decent balance. Once I was running I didn't have any problem with the weight at all.The straps have a good range of adjustment, and I was able to settle the vest comfortably. The sand also conformed to my shape pretty quickly, and I didn't notice any real bouncing (like I did with the plate carrier). Now, I am not setting fire to the running trails anymore, so if I were getting to sub 8-minute miles there might be a lot more bouncing. But those days are behind me; especially with a weight vest.I take one star off for two reasons -- the lack of any ability to adjust the weight. Even just a few extra pouches where you could put in bar weights (or even your own sand), and vary the weight by 5-8 lbs would be helpful. Also, the vest comes with an intense, eye-watering, smell. I imagine it will fade with time, but I think some time airing out after production wouldn't be amiss.

Six pounds is heavy! When I hold this in my hands, I'm amazed at how heavy it feels. But when I put it on, it feels really well-balanced and surprisingly comfortable.I got this to mainly help me work on improving my posture, not necessarily for working out. I've been noticing that - it's ME scrunching my shoulders up, periodically through the day! And that is what is causing the muscle tension in my shoulder blades and neck.So - since (right now anyhow) it's not as easy for me to catch myself scrunching, in any meaningful way, I decided I wanted to hold my shoulders down with these weights a little bit. See if that would help. Then - see if that helps with my posture muscles in my back too - since I have to exercise a little more with the weight, to sit upright in my spine.Well let me tell you, on my first day, I'm really amazed at how soothing this feels. I did some gentle neck rolls, stretching the front of ny neck, the sides, and stretching it forward. Standing upright, with my arms completely relaxed, and the vest weighing my shoulders down, it felt VERY Very nice. Like, this is honestly really really nice stretching. Way better than without a weighted vest, because - I don't have to work so hard for the stretch. It's so gentle. It's a nice, deep stretch, with very little effort at all.So then, sitting at my desk, where I'm most aware of my posture shifting poorly, wearing the vest became very emotionally soothing.Like - I have to really breathe into my body, because my shoulders are weighed down, and - something about that is incredibly soothing. Typing with on is easy, sitting upright in my spine is easy. And the whole time, I feel very very calm. I like it a lot.The smell of the material is really overpowering though, so I've decided to spray it down with a mix of essential oils in hopes that helps alleviate the scent of the material. It's a neoprene sort, with a strong petroleum scent.While it's possible to wear this for a few hours, without airing it out, it does end up being a bit too much.So definitely plan on spraying it with some sort of air freshener or essential oil, that helps eliminate that scent.Also - the fit is VERY perfect for my body shape. I'm typically a size 6, women's Medium in coats/vests. This is literally Perfect fit. Not too tight, not too loose. There are elastics on the underside of the arm loops, which stretch through your movements, but the vest portion is perfectly contoured across my body shape. I genuinely forget I'm wearing it.I think if I were to exercise a lot in this, the armpit shapes of the vest will probably get pretty stinky. I would recommend wearing a full t-shirt always, to help keep the sweat off of the vest, since it doesn't seem easily washable.Anyhow, I definitely recommend this for people wanting to soothe shoulder/neck tension. Integrating it into their meditation or stretching routine, or even for desk work. It's really helpful and comfortable to wear.
