Definitely an upgrade over the OEM silverware basket. Seems sturdy and well built whereas the original was flimsy and would constantly fall apart and causing my silverware to fall out.

Fits our Whirlpool Quiet Partner III dishwasher perfectly! Our old silverware basket developed holes in it, allowing the silverware to poke through the bottom. This one replaces it nicely (we'll probably remove the hinged lids along the top eventually). We put the old basket in the extra slot in the door and use it for small dishes, lids, caps and other small misc. Also, the new one stays shut much better. Whereas, the old one would occasionally spring open when pulling it out of the machine. Really should have done this years ago - for the sake of our sanity. Bought this in March; now it's June and the rack is just like new still.(in the picture, the dark gray rack is the new one. The light gray rack is the old one).

This has every appearance of being a genuine Whirlpool part, and was available from here at a significantly lower price than I could find it elsewhere, even taking shipping into account. It exactly fit my Whirlpool Quite Partner II dishwasher, which we liked except that it didn't have adequate space for silverware. By adding this (mounted on door) to existing silverware basket (mounted in bottom rack) we doubled the silverware capacity without taking away from space for dishes.
