Well made product. I live in an apartment complex, and it alerts whenever anyone walks by on the sidewalk. 1) I don't use it in the complex because it bothers my neighbors, but 2) it's perfect if I'm out and concerned about my motorcycle in the outdoors. Very happy with it.

High quality, heavy duty lock that works amazingly.I use this lock to deter the theft of my KTM RC390 while I am out and about. The lock is heavy and strong. There is no way anyone is cutting through this puppy without being noticed. The alarm on the thing is ear piercingly loud. I accidentally set it off in my house at around midnight the first night I got it haha. Talk about mad neighbors. Speaking of the alarm, it will go off when you take it off the bike... only for a moment though. Taking it off takes some getting used to, but after a few practice tries it is easy. Also, I was worried about strong winds setting it off, but that hasn't happened a single timeThe lock does not come with a reminder cable, but I don't see how anyone would forget that they locked their bike up. I usually store it underneath my seat. Occasionally, when I have not used it for a few months, I will hear it going off under there. The sensor will get dusty, and if you have it locked it will go off. A quick wipe does the trick to remedy this. Now, don't buy this product thinking that your bike will never get stolen. There is almost no sure fire way to keep a bike from being stolen. If a thief is good enough, wants it enough, and is prepared enough, your bike is a goner. That being said, this is a must if you want to deter 80% of would be thieves when you are in a rough part of town, or away from you bike a little longer than you feel comfortable with.

Good sturdy and robust product, fits onto my Honda PCX 125 nicely. One should read the instructions first before trying to fix the battery in it, because if the covers aren't on within 20 seconds, the alarm will go off.Otherwise, the product is easy to use and fit. The lock is a bit sticky at the start with a fresh key, but it wasn't too bad to remove and no false alarms yet.The XX6Y model also allows one to fit the lock on by just pressing the button down for the locking pin. You don't need a key to lock it - so it can be fitted quickly.

This is my second review of this product. It worked perfectly in the first 2-3 months. After that it started randomly alerting, even seconds after I armed it.I tried to clean it up but the plastic latch that holds the alarm into the lock broke. It was was too weak for real use.I sent 2 emails to Xena but they never get back to me. I assume - based on the other reviews here - they well aware of the problem but decided not to care about their customers.DO NOT BUY

I bought this for my 2013 Ninja 300 and it fits comfortably on both fron and rear brake discs. The yellow on the lock is very bright and easy to see so I don't worry too much about leaving it on by accident. The lock is very easy to operate; insert key and turn to the right to unlock (the locking cylinder will pop out), turn key to the left and remove the key, slide the lock onto the brake disc, and push the cylinder in until it clicks. The lock lets out a loud confirmation beep after you put it on.I tested out the siren just to see how loud it is, and even with my helmet on, its significantly loud. It sounds after about 10 seconds of moving the bike around and is fairly sensative to movement. The only thing that I didn't think about when buying this lock, was how I was going to carry it around. The lock is too big to fit the Ninja's storage compartment, so unless I'm carrying a backpack, it goes in my pocket. Just something to think about.Other than that, I definitely feel a little bit more secure having this little guy guard my Ninja. (Oh also fits easily on the CBR 600's brake rotors)I haven't had any experience with other locks and security measures, but I'm liking this so far.

No alarm is theft-PROOF.But this disc brake alarm will definitely discourage a would-be thief from taking your bike and just moving on to the next. The alarm is easy to use. Just slide it over your break and push the pin to lock it.The sensitivity of the alarm is appropriate. I do not want it to be SO sensitive that any little vibration sets it off. There is no way a person could try to move your bike without this alarm going off.The alarm is quite loud, but honestly could be louder. It's generally enough to attract attention.

I bought this alarm to fit on a Suzuki SV650 with stock brake rotors. While my bike is blue and a blue lock is available, I went with yellow so that it stands out from the bike. The lock fits well on the front rotor and sensitivity can be adjusted based on the position the alarm is placed. The alarm is sufficiently loud and gives plenty of warning before going off, giving you enough time to remove it before making a scene. Despite accidentally getting it wet, it still functions correctly, so I have some confidence it will work in wet weather as well. The alarm only blasts for 15 seconds so as not to drain the battery too quickly. It's pretty bulky and hefty so it feels quite durable. The alarm will go off before anyone will be able to remove it unless they manage to get the key.Despite this glowing review, it does have some flaws. The "armed" sensor is infrared and uses a mirror that can easily get mucked up. There's no way to just turn off the alarm for things like transport or battery replacement. The alarm will arm while unlocked if the IR sensor is obstructed. Perhaps not the fault of the alarm, but it is next to impossible to mount this thing anywhere for storage without it being loose or arming it.The last thing is I've not been able to find a mounting position so that it's sensitive enough to go off when someone sits on the bike. You are suppose to mount it towards the top of the rotor for maximum sensitivity, but I can get on the bike and pick it up without setting it off. I've had to bump the handlebar to set it off. It will definitely remind you that it's there before you can take off with it still on the rotor, but it will not stop people from jacking with your bike. I kinda see this as good and bad because at least it won't go off for random vibrations or noise.Overall, it's a good alarm. It will add to the protection of your bike from theft (don't get me wrong, I have no illusions of it preventing theft outright), it's easy to use, and it works fairly well. Additionally, if your insurance provider provides a discount for an alarm, this should satisfy the requirement to receive it. It does with Geico.
